Rob Kelley RB | NO
Redskins' Rob Kelley: Sidelined Sunday
Kelley (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's contest versus the Raiders, Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan DC reports.
Limited all week due to a rib cartilage injury, Kelley proposed Friday he'd play with a protective vest on his chest. Early Sunday morning, the tune changed with a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, who reported Kelley would likely sit out Week 3. In Kelley's absence, expect some combination of Chris Thompson and rookie Samaje Perine to head the Redskins backfield.

Benny Cunningham RB | JAC
Bears' Benny Cunningham: Catches three passes in Sunday win
Cunningham caught three passes for 23 yards in Sunday's victory over the Steelers.
Cunningham made a quick return after missing the Week 2 contest with an ankle injury, but immediately resumed his role as a passing-down specialist. He was targeted three times, which was one fewer than rookie sensation Tarik Cohen, but Cunningham is a very reliable blocker, so it wasn't a big surprise that he had a role in the game plan. It's unlikely that he'll see enough consistent targets to become a reliable fantasy option.

Melvin Gordon RB | BAL
Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Exits Sunday's game
Gordon was forced out of Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a knee issue.
Prior to his exit from the contest, Gordon -- who approached Week 3's action with a questionable tag after being limited at practice Thursday and Friday -- logged 15 carries for 78 yards and a TD. Next up for the team's carries is Gordon's top backup, Branden Oliver.

Christian McCaffrey RB | SF
Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Tops 100 yards receiving
McCaffrey caught nine of 11 targets for 101 yards and rushed four times for 16 yards in Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Saints.
McCaffrey's first 100-yard receiving game came in the wake of top wideout Kelvin Benjamin being forced to exit during the first half due to a knee injury. Of course, Benjamin's ailment followed Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen's (foot) last week, suddenly leaving Carolina without its top two targets. Already touted for his pass-catching ability, McCaffrey could become a larger force through the air in the weeks to come, and assuming the Panthers aren't trailing for as long as they were Sunday, he should see more than four carries on most occasions as well.

Alvin Kamara RB | NO
Saints' Alvin Kamara: Finds end zone in win over Panthers
Kamara rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on two carries during Sunday's 34-13 win over the Panthers. He also caught three of five targets for an additional five yards.
Kamara made the most of his limited opportunities in this one, churning out a 12-yard gain before rumbling for his first career touchdown on a 25-yard carry in the fourth quarter. He was also targeted more than all other Saints backs combined, though he didn't make much of an impact as a receiver. Kamara still has a ways to go before be can be considered a reliable fantasy play, but he has certainly flashed his potential at times in the early stages.

Melvin Gordon RB | BAL
Chargers' Melvin Gordon: Suits up Sunday
Gordon (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Gordon, who has logged 27 carries for 67 yards and TD through the Chargers' first two games, is thus available if you need him this week, with Branden Oliver on hand to serve in a backup/complementary role and Aaron Ekeler in reserve.

Terrance West RB | BAL
Ravens' Terrance West: Loses fumble on just six carries
West (calf) had six carries for 26 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 44-7 loss to the Jaguars in London.
West appeared to get the start and took the first carry, but he shared playing time with Javorius Allen and Alex Collins in a pathetic performance by the Ravens. Listed as questionable heading into the game, West didn't show any clear signs of injury, and the outcome was all but determined by the time he lost a fumble in the third quarter. Allen wasn't any better with only 28 yards on 13 touches, but Collins impressed by gaining 82 yards on nine carries, albeit with nearly all of the production occurring in garbage time. Another timeshare seems likely Week 4 against the Steelers.
-
Damien Williams RB | ARI
Dolphins' Damien Williams: Available in Week 3
Williams (ribs) is active for Sunday's game versus the Jets in New York, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Heraldreports.
Despite being tabbed as questionable in Week 3, Williams' availability wasn't really up in the air after full practices Thursday and Friday. In a backfield with a workhorse like Jay Ajayi, though, Williams won't be ultilized much, if at all, on a game-to-game basis.

Joe Mixon RB | HOU
Bengals' Joe Mixon: Bigger role could be on tap
Mixon is expected to take on a bigger role in the Bengals' backfield beginning with their matchup Sunday against the Packers, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
The Bengals' early-season offensive struggles prompted the firing of offensive coordinator Ken Zampese following their Week 2 loss to the Texans, with Bill Lazor assuming those duties in Zampese's stead. One of Lazor's main initiatives as the Bengals' new coordinator will likely be carving out more work for Mixon, who has logged 17 carries to Giovani Bernard's 12 and Jeremy Hill's 12 through the team's first two games. Mixon is only averaging 2.6 yards per carry, but he offers more burst and pass-catching ability than Hill and more strength between the tackles than Bernard, making him the team's most complete back. While Mixon's well-rounded skill set probably won't earn him a three-down role until he yields better results, it appears that the team will at least make a more concerted effort to get the ball in the rookie's hands more frequently at the expense of the veteran holdovers.

Terrance West RB | BAL
Ravens' Terrance West: Active for London game
West (calf) is active Sunday for the Ravens' Week 3 matchup with the Jaguars in London.
West had been listed as questionable after the calf injury confined him to the sideline for all but one of the Ravens' three practice days this week, but after getting in a full session Friday and testing things out early Sunday without complications, he'll be cleared to take the field. While West may retain his starting designation, it's still expected that he'll cede ample work to Javorius Allen, particularly on passing downs. Alex Collins, who was promoted from the practice squad last week, may also get some touches when West requires a breather.
