  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Was 'close' to suiting up Sunday

Coach Mike Zimmer said Cook (hamstring) was "close" to playing Sunday against the Cardinals, but "we just have to feel comfortable with it," Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Cook's availability Sunday came down to a pregame workout, but his hamstring didn't react well to the increased activity, and the Vikings opted to hold him out for the third time in four games. Per usual, his activity level will be monitored closely in the coming days as the Vikings prepare for a Week 7 visit to the Jets. Look for Latavius Murray to lead the backfield in the event Cook is sidelined again.

  • Doug Martin RB | LV

Raiders' Doug Martin: Hindered by game flow again

Martin caught his lone target for eight yards and did not record a carry in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Seahawks.

Martin has logged no more than seven offensive snaps in three consecutive games as the 1-5 Raiders continue to struggle heading into their bye. With Oakland trailing for much of the contest against Seattle, Martin was kept to the sideline as fellow backup Jalen Richard played a role in the passing game en route to seven receptions for 48 yards on eight targets. The Raiders' backfield accounted for just 48 rushing yards on 15 attempts, though quarterback Derek Carr (arm) added 31 yards on four carries of his own.

  • Roc Thomas RB | JAC

Vikings' Roc Thomas: Just one carry in Sunday's win

Thomas lost four yards on his only carry in Sunday's win over Arizona.

Neither Mike Boone (three snaps) nor Thomas (five snaps) got much playing time behind Latavius Murray with Davlin Cook out due to a hamstring injury. It's not clear if Boone or Thomas is the No. 3 running back, but neither is much of a factor in the offense.

  • Mike Boone RB | MIA

Vikings' Mike Boone: Just one carry in Sunday's win

Boone had one carry for 20 yards in Sunday's win over Arizona.

Neither Boone (three snaps) nor Roc Thomas (five snaps) got much playing time behind Latavius Murray with Davlin Cook out with a hamstring injury. It's not clear if Boone or Thomas is the No. 3 running back, but neither is much of a factor in the offense.

  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Doesn't play on offense

Wilkins didn't play a snap on offense in Sunday's loss to the Jets. He played 12 snaps on special teams.

With Marlon Mack returning from a hamstring injury and Nyheim Hines getting work in a receiving role, Wilkins got stuck on the bench. Wilkins could get some playing time on offense if Robert Turbin is out with a shoulder injury, but Wilkins has clearly fallen out of favor in Indy's plans.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Expected to split work with Ingram

Coach Sean Payton indicated that he's hoping to keep the Saints' backfield touches between Kamara and Mark Ingram more balanced in future weeks, Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate reports.

Despite Kamara's brilliance through the first quarter of the season, it was Ingram who was surprisingly acted as the Saints' top back in Week 5 win over the Redskins. In his return from a four-game suspension, Ingram logged 18 touches (16 carries, two receptions) and scored twice, while Kamara finished with only six carries and three catches, both of which were season lows. The game script likely factored heavily into both players' usage, as the Saints raced out to a big lead in the second quarter and prioritized getting Ingram more work in the second half following his month-long layoff. In more competitive contests, it appears Ingram and Kamara will see similar involvement, as was the case throughout the 2017 campaign. Both backs were still stellar week-to-week fantasy options in the timeshare arrangement last season, and with the New Orleans offense looking like one of the NFL's more explosive units thus far in 2018, that figures to remain the case again. It's still a negative development for Kamara nonetheless after he was on pace for a historic season with averages of 14 carries and 8.7 catches per game to go with 611 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns through the first four weeks.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Texans' D'Onta Foreman: Not ready to come off PUP list

Coach Bill O'Brien said Monday that he doesn't think Foreman (Achilles) is ready to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of the Texans' Week 7 game against the Jaguars, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Now that he's sat out the mandatory six weeks after being placed on the PUP list at the conclusion of the preseason, Foreman is eligible for activation at any point over the next six weeks. Based on O'Brien's comments, it doesn't sound as though Foreman is ready to resume practice yet, even though the second-year back indicated earlier in the month that he's on track in his recovery from surgery to repair a torn left Achilles' tendon. Once Foreman returns to practice, the Texans will have a 21-day window to either activate him, release him, or keep him on the PUP list for the remainder of the season.

  • Patriots' Cordarrelle Patterson: Limited role in Week 6

Patterson was on the field for six of a possible 78 snaps on offense in Sunday's 43-40 win over the Chiefs.

In the process, Patterson carried once for three yards and hauled in his only target for 13 yards. With Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and now Josh Gordon entrenched atop the Patriots' wideout depth chart, Patterson's involvement in the offense figures to be sporadic. He's still capable of breaking off the occasional big play, but his most consistent impact going forward figures to come in the return game.

  • Patriots' Kenjon Barner: Logs three carries in Week 6

Barner was on the field for five of a possible 78 snaps on offense in Sunday's 43-40 win over the Chiefs.

In the process, Barner carried three times for 16 yards while working behind Sony Michel and James White. For now, Barner is off the fantasy radar, but if White ever misses any time, Barner could potentially carve out some short-term utility in PPR formats.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Remains hopeful to play Monday

Breida (shoulder/ankle), who is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Packers, has improved throughout the past week and is pushing to play, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Coach Kyle Shanahan has labeled Breida a game-day decision for the Week 6 matchup, but Pelissero's report seemingly paints a rosy picture for the running back's availability. The 49ers likely won't have an official word on Breida's status until they release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before the 8:15 PM ET kickoff. Even if Breida is cleared to suit up, it's not guaranteed that he'll be used in a starting role, and he could be subjected to a restricted snap count. Alfred Morris would benefit the most if Breida is ruled out or limited during Monday's game.
