McNichols was cut by the Titans on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McNichols shined in the team's third preseason game, rushing for 43 yards on nine carriers. The veteran was unable to beat out the likes of Dalyn Dawkins and Alex Barnes and will be looking to secure a roster spot elsewhere.

Perine was cut by the Redskins on Saturday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

It's not entirely surprising to see Perine hit waivers considering the Redskins utilized Byron Marshall and Craig Reynolds extensively in the fourth preseason game in lieu of the 2017 fourth-round pick. A dismal 3.4 yards-per-carry average in his rookie season seemed to doom Perine from the start, as the third-year back was completely relegated to a depth piece last season despite a season-ending injuries to both Chris Thompson and Derrius Guice during different junctures of the campaign. The 23-year-old could catch on as a backup with another team, but he'd have to fall into an awfully desperate situation to be considered someone of fantasy value in 2019.

The Eagles waived Scott on Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The Eagles are deep at running back, which meant Scott was really going to have to stand out on special teams for any chance at landing on their 53-man roster. He was ultimately unable to make enough of an impression and must now look for a new opportunity.

The Cowboys and Elliott (contract dispute) are reportedly close to a contract extension and are aiming to wrap up a new deal by this weekend, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

This isn't the first time we've heard positive news in regards to a potential Elliott contract extension that has carried on throughout the preseason, but this certainly paints a more optimistic fantasy picture for the star running back compared to owner Jerry Jones' comments Thursday, which suggested he could miss multiple regular-season games. Should Elliott indeed a sign an extension sometime this weekend, the fourth-year back should have a chance to play in Week 1's opener against the Giants, likely relegating Tony Pollard to simply a change-of-pace backup.

Singletary is poised to receive a significant share of the backfield carries after the release of LeSean McCoy, which was reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday.

While the Bills made a point of suggesting McCoy was still "the guy" in Buffalo after drafting Singletary in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, that thought process quickly dissipated after the rookie put together an excellent training camp. The 21-year-old will likely still split time with Frank Gore and T.J. Yeldon to start, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Singletary take on more of the backfield reps as the season progresses considering Gore's advanced age (36 years old) and Yeldon's pigeonholed role as the pass-catching threat out of the backfield.

Kerwynn Williams was released by the Saints on Friday, Charean Williams of CBS Sports reports.

Williams latched on with the Saints in camp this season, but he couldn't do enough to earn a roster spot. The journeyman will look to land another opportunity elsewhere prior to Week 1.

Rodgers was released by the Saints on Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Rodgers had been with the Saints for the last three-plus weeks but was unable to impress enough to make the final roster. Rodgers put in some decent work with the Buccaneers over the last three seasons but hasn't had much staying power in the league.

The Panthers cut Artis-Payne on Friday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

The 2015 fifth-round pick spent the past four years in Carolina, taking 118 carries for 491 yards and five touchdowns in 32 games. The Panthers' decision to cut Artis-Payne suggests rookie fifth-round pick Jordan Scarlett will enter Week 1 with the No. 2 spot on the depth chart at running back. It's also a good sign for Reggie Bonnafon and Elijah Holyfield.

Wilds was released by the 49ers on Friday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Wilds signed with the 49ers on two separate occasions in training camp but ultimately wasn't able to stick with the team. San Francisco remains comfortable regarding running back depth with Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert all available candidates for the 53-man roster.

Bohanon was released by the Packers on Friday, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.

Bohanon joined Green Bay while top fullback Danny Vitale was sidelined with a calf injury and never had a strong chance to make the 53-man roster. The veteran fullback offers upside as a blocker and special-teams asset.
