  • Jordan Wilkins RB | CLE

Colts' Jordan Wilkins: Nine carries Sunday

Wilkins had nine carries for 39 yards and one reception for six yards on his lone target in Sunday's 36-7 win over the Jets.

Last week, Wilkins didn't get most of his carries until later in the game when it became a blowout, but this week he was used as early as the second quarter. He played 16 snaps on offense while Nyheim Hines played 20 snaps. Wilkins is still likely the third option in the running game and likely to get more snaps than Hines when the Colts have a large lead. However, Jonathan Taylor remains the clear first option.

  • D'Andre Swift RB | CHI

Lions' D'Andre Swift: Small role in Week 3 win

Swift did not log a carry but caught one of two targets for 19 yards during Sunday's 26-23 victory over Arizona.

After seeing 34 offensive snaps Week 1 and 20 in Week 2, Swift was used on just six offensive snaps Sunday while Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson logged 40 and 20, respectively. Against a Cardinals team that ran a hefty 159 total offensive snaps during the first two weeks of the season, Lions head coach Matt Patricia suggested after the game that the backfield playing time was determined by Detroit's goal to "control the clock," according to Chris Burke of the Athletic. As it appears Swift is neither Detroit's first or second option when they want to do so, the rookie may be hard to trust in games when the Lions are expected to try to dominate the time of possession.

  • Travis Homer RB | PIT

Seahawks' Travis Homer: Could handle more reps

Homer could be in line for more volume following news that Carson suffered a first-degree knee sprain in Sunday's 38-31 win over the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Carson went down with a fractured hip Week 16 last year, making Homer the de facto No. 1 RB until the team signed Marshawn Lynch for a postseason push. Homer was quite effective in place of Carson, especially as a pass catcher, reeling in 14 of 17 passes for 88 yards over four games, including the postseason. He was a bit inconsistent on the ground, but he's been more dependable this year, recording 39 yards on eight carries (4.9 YPC). Considering Homer and Carlos Hyde both recorded 16 offensive snaps Week 3, Carroll could determine the lead back Week 4 versus the Dolphins with a "hot hand" approach, a position he's been fond of in the past. Homer has a competitive advantage with his pass-catching ability -- Hyde caught just 10 passes over 16 games in 2019 -- and his speed (4.48-second 40), but he's about 27 pounds lighter than Hyde. That could make Hyde a better goal-line back if this shapes up as a timeshare, but Homer may get a majority of the work on passing downs.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Not seeing work

Pollard did not receive a carry and caught his only target for a five-yard loss in Sunday's 38-31 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks.

Ezekiel Elliott did not have a good game, committing numerous drops, slipping in his own end zone for a safety, and averaging only 2.4 yards a carry, but even in those circumstances Pollard didn't get a chance to make an impact. It seems as though it will take an injury to Elliott for the Cowboys' No. 2 running back to have any kind of fantasy value.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: No action in Week 3

Dillon did not take the field for an offensive snap in Sunday's 37-30 victory over the Saints.

Dillon had five carries late in a Week 2 blowout after recording two totes in his first game as a pro, but he did not get even one chance to run the ball Sunday with the Packers relying solely on their three veteran backs. He still has some long-term intrigue, but as things stand he's merely extra depth in the Packers backfield.

  • J.J. Taylor RB | HOU

Patriots' J.J. Taylor: Logs 11 carries in Week 3

Taylor was on the field for 15 of a possible 69 snaps on offense in Sunday's 36-20 win over the Raiders, logging a team-high 11 carries for 43 yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Taylor, who didn't catch his only passing target in the contest, isn't going to lead the team in carries too often, but a run-heavy game plan, coupled with the absence of James White (personal), afforded Taylor an opportunity to see added touches Week 3. Meanwhile, Sony Michel rushed for 117 yards on nine carries, and Rex Burkhead turned his six carries into 49 yards and a pair of rushing scores. With Damien Harris (finger) possibly back this week, Taylor's role this coming Sunday against the Chiefs may not be a big one.

  • 49ers' JaMycal Hasty: Three touches in debut

Hasty rushed twice for nine yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's 36-9 win over the Giants.

Hasty was elevated from the practice squad after the 49ers lost both Raheem Mostert (knee) and Tevin Coleman (knee) to injuries Week 2. The undrafted rookie didn't receive enough touches to make a fantasy impact, but he does possess a fantasy-friendly skill set of speed and soft hands. It was clear that Jerick McKinnon (ribs) and Jeff Wilson were the lead backs in the victory, but if the former is forced to miss Sunday's upcoming matchup against the Eagles, then Hasty would be next in line to fill McKinnon's role on offense. The 23-year-old could be a sneaky FLEX option or bargain DFS play if that situation materializes.

  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Quiet in Week 3

Williams had six carries for 14 yards and one reception for three yards in Sunday's 37-30 victory over the Saints.

Williams averaged 9.5 touches and 52.5 yards from scrimmage over the Packers' first two games, but he finished well below both marks Week 3 with the Saints defense containing the opposing running backs like they usually do. Fellow running back Tyler Ervin saw more snaps than Williams on Sunday, but Ervin does not operate as a traditional running back, and Williams remains the No. 2 man in the backfield behind Aaron Jones.

  • Browns' D'Ernest Johnson: Fills in as returner

Johnson entered Sunday's game as the primary returner after JoJo Natson left in the second quarter due to a knee injury.

Johnson gained zero yards on one punt return in the third quarter. He's played just three percent of the offensive snaps in 2020, so any contributions Johnson can make will likely come on special teams.

  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Posts 65 yards in loss

Murray carried 12 times for 58 yards and caught his only target for seven yards in the Saints' 37-30 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

As expected, Murray played clearly behind Alvin Kamara, though Murray has now logged at least 13 touches in two of the first three weeks of the season. He hasn't found his way to the end zone yet, but if he can continue to see double-digit touches, he can be useful as a deep-league flex.
