Mitchell (shoulder) rushed 17 times for 42 yards and caught both of his targets for 11 more yards in Sunday's 17-11 win over the Eagles.
Mitchell -- who debuted in a big way against Detroit last game -- got the nod as lead back following the news of Raheem Mostert's (knee) season-ending surgery earlier this week. The rookie rusher was forced to briefly leave the contest in the fourth quarter after suffering what appeared to be a shoulder injury, but he was able to return and finish the contest. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that Mitchell appeared to have suffered a shoulder stinger, and the back will undergo an MRI this week to confirm that it is nothing more serious, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Fellow backs Trey Sermon (head) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) also suffered injuries of their own against the Eagles, so Mitchell could remain the starter against the Packers next Sunday even after posting a sub-par fantasy line this week.
