  • Lions' Craig Reynolds: Surprise leading rusher

Reynolds carried the ball 11 times for 83 yards and caught both his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Broncos.

Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson were expected to lead the Detroit backfield in the absence of D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19), but instead it was Reynolds who emerged as the most effective rusher for the team just one day after being promoted from the practice squad. He came into Sunday with only two career touches in the NFL, both coming at the end of last season for the Jaguars, but the 25-year-old may have earned a permanent spot on the Lions' roster for the rest of 2021 with this performance. Whether he has any further fantasy value will depend on how quickly Swift and Williams are back in the lineup, however.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Not expected to miss time

Ekeler (ankle) is expected to be fine moving forward and coach Brandon Staley said after Sunday's 37-21 win over the Giants that Ekeler could have returned to the game if necessary, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Ekeler exited in the third quarter, and the Chargers didn't see a need to push him with the game well in hand. Staley's post-game comments suggest the star running back is unlikely to miss additional time, but Ekeler's participation in practice leading up to Thursday's game against the Chiefs will still bear monitoring, as the short week falls at an inconvenient time for the banged-up Ekeler. Fellow running backs Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley saw a near-even split in opportunities against the Giants, with 42 scrimmage yards on 10 touches and 38 yards on 11 touches, respectively.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Finds end zone

Barkley ran for 64 yards on 16 carries and caught three passes for 31 yards and one touchdown on three targets against the Chargers on Sunday.

The per-carry returns were slightly disappointing against a Chargers defense that normally struggles to contain the ground game, but it was encouraging to see Barkley take up a big workload in his fourth game back from his major Week 5 ankle injury. In Week 15 Barkley gets a rematch against the Dallas defense that he was injured against in that ill-fated Week 5 game.

  • Joshua Kelley RB | TEN

Chargers' Joshua Kelley: Ten carries off the bench

Kelley ran for 33 yards on 10 carries against the Giants on Sunday.

Kelley and fellow running back Justin Jackson (nine carries for 35 yards) saw elevated workloads due to starter Austin Ekeler suffering an ankle injury in the third quarter. It's not clear what Ekeler's status might be for Week 15, but if he misses time then -- based on Sunday's game -- Kelley and Jackson would get the first cracks at the vacated workload. Kelley and Larry Rountree (inactive, coach's decision Sunday) are probably the Chargers' best candidates to run between the tackles among their backup runners, with the lightly-built Jackson profiling best for the passing-down work.

  • D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE

Titans' D'Onta Foreman: Serves as lead back

Foreman recorded 13 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-0 win over the Jaguars. He added two receptions on two targets for 15 yards.

Foreman accounted for 13 of the Titans' 34 rushing attempts, though no other back on the team surpassed eight carries. He wasn't particularly efficient as he managed only 3.6 yards per carry, and his longest gain went for only eight yards. However, Foreman did manage to find the end zone on the Titans' first offensive possession, punching in an attempt from five yards away. Since being promoted to Tennessee's active roster in Week 9, Foreman has topped 60 total yards in three of four games.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Picks up ankle injury Sunday

Ekeler exited Sunday's contest against the Giants due to an ankle injury.

Ekeler picked up the injury midway through the third quarter during a three-yard run. Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Chargers trainers worked on Ekeler's left ankle before helping him off the field. After receiving a heavy tape job and testing it out on the sideline, the team determined the running back to be questionable to return. If he doesn't get back in the game, Ekeler will finish Week 14 with 12 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown and two catches (on four targets) for 17 yards. With Larry Rountree a healthy scratch Sunday, L.A. is left with Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley out of the backfield.

  • Jets' La'Mical Perine: Pressed into action by injuries

Perine rushed seven times for 28 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 30-9 loss to the Saints.

Austin Walter (illness) joined Michael Carter (ankle) and Tevin Coleman (concussion) on the sidelines before he could play a snap, leaving Perine to work as the power complement to Ty Johnson's finesse in the backfield. Perine was more effective than Johnson (six carries for 17 yards) on the ground, but he wasn't involved as a pass-catcher, and the Jets never got close enough to give Perine any carries by the goal line. Even if none of the injured running backs return, New York's struggles offensively and Perine's limited skill set will make him tough to trust in Week 15 against the Dolphins.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Completely ineffective

Robinson recorded six carries for four yards in Sunday's 20-0 loss to the Titans. He was not targeted.

After consistent chatter surrounding Robinson's role throughout the week, he accounted for the majority of Jacksonville's rush attempts. However, that still amounted to very little volume, as the Jaguars tallied only eight rushing attempts for the entire day. Equally concerning was Robinson's lack of involvement as a receiver, as Sunday's effort marked his first game without a target on the season. A Week 15 matchup against Houston could offer some reprieve for Robinson, but given that he's combined to record only 14 carries for 28 yards across his last two games, it will be difficult to have significant faith in his potential to produce.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Salvages performance as receiver

Jacobs rushed the ball nine times for 24 yards in Sunday's 48-9 loss to the Chiefs. He added five receptions on six targets for 46 yards.

Jacobs began the game in inauspicious fashion by fumbling on his first carry. His day didn't get much better on the ground, as he was limited to fewer than 30 yards for the third time this season. On the other hand, Jacobs did manage to chip in as a receiver, highlighted by catches of 14 and 10 yards. Work as a pass catcher has been the key to his production of late, as he now has at least four receptions in five of his last six games.

  • Football Team's Antonio Gibson: Loses fumble

Gibson ran for 36 yards on 10 carries and lost a fumble against Dallas on Sunday.

Gibson is capable of breezing past 20 carries in close games or ones where Washington has the lead, but Sunday, the Football Team was only able to get within striking distance in the fourth quarter. Gibson's opportunity level dwindled as a result, leaving him with his lowest carry count since Week 8. Gibson also lost his fourth fumble of the season Sunday, certainly a worrisome trend. His first opportunity to bounce back comes on the road against the Eagles in Week 15.
