  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Big bounce-back effort

Mixon ran for 65 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries while catching six passes for 70 yards and one touchdown on six targets against Baltimore on Sunday.

Mixon had a quiet few weeks preceding this game, but with this strong dual-threat output, he's back on rhythm as the Bengals head into a crucial Week 17 matchup against the Chiefs. Mixon's usage is very high almost every week in the Cincinnati offense, and he'll be in good position for a productive finish to the season, especially if quarterback Joe Burrow can maintain his momentum after a 525-yard, four-touchdown breakout game against the Ravens.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Torn Achilles confirmed

Interim coach Darrell Bevell confirmed that Robinson suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Jets, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com and John Reid of The Florida Times-Union report.

The non-contact injury Robinson suffered Sunday indeed is a season-ending one, and he'll presumably face a lengthy recovery period. In his absence down the stretch, the Jaguars' available running back options are Dare Ogunbowale, who handled the bulk of the carries following Robinson's Sunday departure, along with Nathan Cottrell and Ryquell Armstead.

  • Jaguars' Dare Ogunbowale: Scores TD after Robinson injury

Ogunbowale rushed 17 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Jets. He added two catches on four targets for 15 yards after taking over as the lead back for the injured James Robinson (Achilles).

Robinson reportedly suffered a partial tear of his Achilles, per Michael DiRocco of ESPN. That injury will almost certainly sideline Robinson for the remainder of the season, so Ogunbowale should continue to work as Jacksonville's lead back in Week 17 against the Patriots and Week 18 against the Colts. Ogunbowale made the most of his opportunity in this one, finding the end zone from one yard out in the fourth quarter for his first touchdown in two seasons as a member of the Jaguars.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Partial Achilles tear, per report

Robinson reportedly suffered a partial tear of his left Achilles during Sunday's game against the Jets, Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports.

We'll await further confirmation of the severity of his Achilles issue, but with just two weeks left in the Jaguars' schedule, Robinson's non-contact injury could well end his campaign. Looking ahead, the team's available running back options are Dare Ogunbowale, who logged the bulk of the carries following Robinson's Sunday exit, as well as Nathan Cottrell and Ryquell Armstead.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Will not return to Sunday's game

Sanders (hand) will not return to Sunday's game against the Giants. He finished the contest with seven carries for 45 yards and one reception for three yards on his sole target.

Sanders injured his hand in the first half of Sunday's contest, and that will wind up bringing an early end to his day. Jordan Howard is next in line at the running back position, and Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell could get involved as well.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Picks up hand injury

Sanders injured his hand in Sunday's game against the Giants and is questionable to return, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.

Sanders was slowed by a quad injury this past week and an ankle issue the week before, and he has now added another injury to the list.

  • Jaguars' James Robinson: Injures Achilles

Robinson was forced out of Sunday's game against the Jets with an Achilles injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Per Field Yates of ESPN, the running back grabbed his ankle area following a non-contact injury and now it appears as though Robinson's Achilles is the issue. Prior to being carted off, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports, Robinson logged three carries for 10 yards. Next up for the team's backfield duties in his absence is Dare Ogunbowale.

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Rams' Cam Akers: Activation aids pension

Akers (Achilles) might not play during the regular season even though he was activated for the final three weeks of the season, Fox's Peter Schrager reported on their Sunday morning pregame show.

However, by activating him and having him on the roster the last three games of the regular season, the Rams ensure the 2021 campaign is credited towards Akers' NFL pension plan.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

    Saints' Alvin Kamara: Emergency quarterback

Kamara will serve as the Saints' emergency quarterback for Monday's game against the Dolphins in the event both starter Ian Book and backup Blake Bortles aren't available at any point during the game, Peter Schrager reported on the "Fox NFL Sunday" program.

The Saints should have been expected to be creative with Kamara to begin with, so don't be surprised if the Saints roll out a few direct snaps to the versatile back during the contest. New Orleans will be without its top two signal-callers after both Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday following positive tests for the virus.

  • Lions' Jermar Jefferson: Inactive Sunday

Jefferson (coach's decision) will not play Sunday against the Falcons.

Jefferson unexpectedly received very little work with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams on the COVID list. With Williams' return and the emergence of Craig Reynolds, Jefferson will be the odd man out Sunday against the Falcons.
