La'Mical Perine RB | PIT
La'Mical Perine: Does not make team
The Chiefs waived Perine on Tuesday.
Perine's only real route to the Chiefs' final 53-man roster was if they opted to go with four running backs, as Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire were already pretty much locked in ahead of him. That scenerio ultimately did not come to fruition, so now Perine will either need to get a practice squad offer or else he will be looking for a new landing spot.

Gerrid Doaks RB | HOU
Gerrid Doaks: Let go by Houston
The Texans waived Doaks on Tuesday.
Doaks missed the Texans' final two preseason games with an undisclosed injury. He spent the 2022 season on Houston's practice squad and could return in that capacity once he clears waivers.

Xazavian Valladay RB | MIN
Xazavian Valladay: Waived by Pittsburgh
The Steelers waived Valladay on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Valladay joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent in late April before being let go by the team in mid-August. He quickly landed with the Steelers but was unable to earn a spot on the team's 53-man roster. He'll now have to seek out other opportunities ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Greg Bell RB | PIT
Greg Bell: Let go by Pittsburgh
The Steelers waived Bell on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Bell joined the Steelers at the beginning of August after being waived by the Lions in late July. However, he was unable to secure a depth role on Pittsburgh's 53-man roster and will be forced to seek out other opportunities ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Stevie Scott III RB | ARI
Stevie Scott: Waived by Arizona
Scott was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
The running back was also let go by the team on Aug. 14 before being re-signed a week later. Scott has yet to make an NFL regular season roster across four combined attempts with the Saints, Broncos and Cardinals since 2021.

Brian Hill RB | SF
Brian Hill: Exits San Francisco
The 49ers released Hill on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Hill was sitting at No. 6 on the 49ers' running back depth chart, which makes this move relatively unsurprising. The 27-year-old has primarily played in Atlanta across the first four years of his career, but he was looking for a fresh start in San Francisco. It remains to be seen if the team plans on offering him a role on their practice squad.

J.J. Taylor RB | HOU
J.J. Taylor: Among roster cuts
The Patriots waived Taylor on Tuesday.
With Ty Montgomery and Kevin Harris also having been let go by the team Tuesday, Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott are the only running backs on the 53-man roster following initial cut-downs. Look for additional moves to occur in the coming days, and with that in mind it's possible that Taylor could return to the mix once the dust settles.

Jeremy McNichols RB | WAS
Jeremy McNichols: Does not make team
McNichols (hamstring) was released by the 49ers on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
No surprise here, as McNichols was sitting at No. 5 on the running back depth chart. The 27-year-old was looking to bring his career full circle, as San Francisco drafted him in 2017. Inbetween, the journeyman has had stints with the Colts, Jaguars and Titans. It is unclear if the 49ers plan on offering him a spot on their practice squad or if the 27-year-old will need to look for a new opportunity.

Nate McCrary RB | GB
Nate McCrary: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers waived McCrary on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
McCrary and Patrick Taylor lost out on the No. 3 running back spot to rookie UDFA Emanuel Wilson. McCrary was picked up by the Packers on Aug. 7 after being let go by the Browns three days prior. He could look to return to Green Bay's practice squad once he clears waivers or look for opportunities elsewhere.

Patrick Taylor RB | SF
Patrick Taylor: Let go by Green Bay
The Packers waived Taylor on Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
Taylor was the third running back to enter Saturday's preseason finale against the Seahawks and ultimately lost out on the No. 3 running back spot to rookie UDFA Emanuel Wilson. Taylor had limited opportunities in 2022, tallying just 10 carries for 31 yards in 14 games while operating behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. He'll look to land elsewhere -- likely on a practice squad -- once he clears waivers.
