Antonio Gibson RB | NE
Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Stuck in small role
Gibson had two carries for nine yards while catching all three of his targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 35-33 win over Denver.
Gibson was limited to just five touches a week after receiving four, giving way to starter Brian Robinson, who had a two-touchdown day. The veteran backup was able to break off a 36-yard reception out of the backfield but was otherwise a non-factor. Gibson has provided fantasy value in the past while serving as Washington's starter, but he is an unappealing option against Buffalo next Sunday in his current role.

Matt Breida RB | SF
Giants' Matt Breida: Quiet Sunday but could start Week 3
Breida rushed once for five yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game Sunday in a win against Arizona in Week 2. However, top running back Saquon Barkley injured his ankle late in the contest, making Breida a candidate to start for New York this Thursday in San Francisco.
Breida's lone rush attempt Sunday came on the play after Barkley was injured with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter. Breida logged only three touches in a season-opening loss to Dallas, emphasizing the minimal role he has on offense when Barkley is healthy. However, with the Giants' star RB slated for an MRI on his ankle Monday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the door appears to be open for Breida to move in as the team's starter Thursday in San Francisco and possibly for additional time beyond that. The matchup against the 49ers is far from ideal, and there is hope among the organization that Barkley avoided a high-ankle sprain, so fantasy managers have a lot to consider when weighing how much to invest in grabbing Breida off the waiver wire.

Raheem Mostert RB | LV
Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Carries offense with two TDs
Mostert (knee) carried the ball 18 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns while catching his lone target for six yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Patriots.
Mostert was already on his way to a strong performance before ripping off a 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the Dolphins up for good. The veteran back was not limited by the minor knee injury he was dealing with during the practice week, commanding 18 carries with no other Miami back seeing more than three. Mostert has certainly outperformed his ADP so far, and he will look to keep things rolling against the Broncos next Sunday.

Rhamondre Stevenson RB | NE
Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Finds end zone in loss
Stevenson rushed 15 times for 50 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to Miami.
Stevenson was heading for another down game before a late touchdown saved his fantasy day. The 25-year-old finished ahead of veteran Ezekiel Elliott (5-13-0) in carries for the second consecutive week, confirming his status as the lead back in New England. Stevenson has just 75 rushing yards through two games, but his ground production should increase when the Patriots' brutal early season schedule softens up. There is nothing soft about the Jets' defense, which will host Stevenson and the Patriots next Sunday.

Damien Harris RB | BUF
Bills' Damien Harris: Gets garbage-time score
Harris carried the ball seven times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Raiders.
On the surface, it appears that Harris saw a significant uptick in involvement in the Bills offense after a one-carry performance in Week 1. However, through three quarters, he had only two carries while Latavius Murray had already tallied all eight of his touches for the day. Given that, it appears that Harris has slipped to third on the depth chart, and he could be in danger of rarely taking the field in more competitive games.

Dare Ogunbowale RB | LV
Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Sees action in Week 2
Ogunbowale had two carries for four yards in Sunday's 31-20 loss to Indianapolis in Week 2.
Ogunbowale made his season debut after being inactive Week 1. He took the active spot that Mike Boone had last week and operated as the third back behind Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary. One of Ogunbowale's carries came in the red zone.
-
Devin Singletary RB | NYG
Texans' Devin Singletary: Quiet in loss
Singletary carried four times for 14 yards and caught his lone target for 10 yards in Sunday's 31-20 loss to the Colts in Week 2.
Singletary's 24 combined yards was an improvement over Week 1 (15 yards), and the target was his first of the season. The Texans ground game felt the negative impact of injuries across the offensive line. For a second straight week, the rushing attack was bottled up, and Houston's offense threw nearly twice as much as it ran. Unfortunately for the backs, all that passing hasn't resulted in many targets. Of 91 pass attempts through the first two games, the position group accounts for 11 targets. Early on, quarterback C.J. Stroud has heavily favored wideouts, which account for 60 targets.

Saquon Barkley RB | PHI
Giants' Saquon Barkley: Likely avoided high-ankle sprain
The Giants are optimistic that Barkley (ankle) avoided a high-ankle sprain Sunday against the Cardinals and is dealing with a less severe regular sprain, but he will have an MRI on his ankle Monday to confirm that diagnosis, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Barkley was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-28 win over Arizona. He was instrumental in the Giants' comeback from a 21-point deficit, scoring a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown. Even a regular ankle sprain would likely keep Barkley out of Thursday's game against the 49ers, but he would be projected to miss only one or two additional games if Monday's MRI confirms a regular sprain, while a high-ankle sprain usually entails a recovery of 4-to-6 weeks.

Joshua Kelley RB | TEN
Chargers' Joshua Kelley: Bottled up in tough matchup
Kelley rushed the ball 13 times for 39 yards in Sunday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Titans.
Kelley handled the majority of the work out of the Chargers' backfield with Austin Ekeler (ankle) sidelined. He found very little room to run in a tough matchup, though he did manage to tally 15 yards on his longest carry of the day. Kelley was relatively uninvolved as a receiver as he managed to command only one target -- leaving him with no ability to overcome his poor day on the ground. If Ekeler remains out for Week 3, Kelley should find more room to run against the Vikings.

Tony Pollard RB | TEN
Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Tops 100 scrimmage yards
Pollard carried the ball 25 times for 72 yards and caught seven of eight targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
While he wasn't able to score a TD, something he did twice in Dallas' opener, it was still another very productive afternoon for the team's No. 1 running back. Pollard's workload, even in another blowout victory, is especially encouraging, but the Cowboys again face the prospect of not needing to keep their foot on the gas pedal in the second half during Week 3's road matchup against the 0-2 Cardinals, which could limit his fantasy ceiling.
