Dalvin Cook RB | DAL
Jets' Dalvin Cook: Does little in loss to Dallas
Cook carried the ball four times for seven yards and caught his only target for five yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Neither Cook nor Breece Hall could get anything going early against a dominant Dallas defense, and the Jets had to mostly abandon their running game late in the face of a huge deficit. Cook has just 71 scrimmage yards through his first two games with New York, and the team's backfield timeshare will limit his fantasy appeal in Week 3 against the Patriots.
-
Breece Hall RB | NYJ
Jets' Breece Hall: Shut down in Sunday's loss
Hall carried the ball four times for nine yards and failed to catch his two targets in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys.
QB Zach Wilson actually led the Jets with 36 rushing yards, as Hall and Dalvin Cook were held to a combined 16 yards on eight carries in another dominant performance by the Dallas defense. It was a disappointing showing for Hall after his huge Week 1 return from last season's knee injury, and until he demonstrates some consistency, he should be viewed as a risky option heading into a Week 3 tilt against the Patriots.

Brian Robinson Jr. RB | ATL
Commanders' Brian Robinson: Big fantasy day
Robinson rushed 18 times for 87 yards and two touchdowns while adding 42 yards on two receptions (three targets) in Sunday's 35-33 win over the Broncos.
Robinson helped rally the Commanders to a three-score comeback win with two touchdowns in the second half. The 24-year-old acted as Washington's lead back, receiving 18 of the 20 carries issued to running backs Sunday. Robinson followed up last week's receiving touchdown with a pair of 21-yard receptions, which should be considered a bonus for fantasy managers given his minimal usage as a receiver in past seasons. He'll look to continue his red-hot start to the 2023 season against the Bills next Sunday.
-
Salvon Ahmed RB | CHI
Dolphins' Salvon Ahmed: Managing groin issue
Ahmed is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Patriots due to a groin injury.
Ahmed put together a relatively productive first half prior to exiting with his injury in the second quarter, as he rushed three times for 13 yards while securing all three of his targets for 28 yards. It's unclear whether he'll be available during the second half, but De'Von Achane could see increased playing time if Ahmed can't return.
-
James Cook RB | BUF
Bills' James Cook: Erupts for 159 total yards
Cook rushed the ball 17 times for 123 yards and no touchdowns in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Raiders. He added four receptions on four targets for 36 yards.
Cook tallied the first 100-yard rushing performance of his pro career, which was powered by long gains of 36, 16 and 14 yards. While he held up his end of the deal, Cook's usage was somewhat concerning, as Latavius Murray and Damien Harris combined to tally 13 carries with each also finding the end zone. It's possible that game script had something to do with the rotation at the position, but it will be an ongoing situation worth monitoring. Despite that lingering question, Cook has racked up 225 total yards through two games this season and has proven to be a worthy contributor in the Bills' offense.
-
James Conner RB | ARI
Cardinals' James Conner: Tops century mark in loss
Conner carried the ball 23 times for 106 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Giants. He failed to catch his only target.
The Cardinals held a 20-0 lead at halftime, aided by Conner's four-yard TD plunge in the first quarter, and the running back got a heavy workload after intermission as the team tried unsuccessfully to burn clock and secure the win. Keaontay Ingram was once again a non-factor as Conner's primary backup, and as long as the former Steeler stays healthy, he should dominate the backfield touches for Arizona. He faces a daunting matchup in Week 3, however, against a Cowboys defense that just held Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook to a combined 16 rushing yards.
-
Javonte Williams RB | DAL
Broncos' Javonte Williams: Quiet day on 14 touches
Williams rushed 12 times for 44 yards and caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 35-33 loss to to the Commanders.
Williams had trouble finding room to run against the strength of Washington's defense, its defensive line, despite starting the second half up two scores. The positive news for fantasy managers is that the 2021 second-round pick continued to dominate the backfield touches, with no other Denver back receiving more than one carry Sunday. Patience should be preached here, as Williams currently has a great role in head coach Sean Payton's offense to go along with his great potential as a player. The Broncos will now head to Miami for Week 3 to take on the Dolphins next Sunday.
-
Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Receiving work saves day
Jacobs rushed the ball nine times for -2 yards in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Bills. He added five receptions on six targets for 51 yards.
Jacobs was scripted out of the game early on from a rushing perspective, though he wasn't at all effective with the ball in his hands, as six of his nine rushes went for zero or negative yards. He found more success as a pass catcher, an area of the game he has proven capable of consistently contributing to across the last two seasons. Even with his work as a pass catcher covering up his deficiencies on the ground, Jacobs' struggles through two games have to be noted, as he's managed only 46 yards on 28 carries.
-
DeeJay Dallas RB | JAC
Seahawks' DeeJay Dallas: One carry in win
Dallas rushed once for three yards in Sunday's 37-31 overtime win versus the Lions. He also returned three kicks for 67 yards.
Dallas is settling in as the No. 3 back behind Kenneth Walker and rookie Zach Charbonnet. He's a useful player in hurry-up formations, but his fantasy utility will be negligible as long as Walker and Charbonnet are upright.
-
Zach Charbonnet RB | SEA
Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Six touches in overtime win
Charbonnet rushed four times for 16 yards and caught two passes on two targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 37-31 overtime win versus the Lions.
Charbonnet was still the clear No. 2 back behind Kenneth Walker, who totaled 54 yards and two touchdowns on 18 touches. The rookie has showcased his punishing running style through the first two games, and his pass-catching ability will provide upside if he can push for more snaps. For the time being, it will be difficult to trust Charbonnet in fantasy as long as Walker is dominating the snap count.
