DJ Uiagalelei QB | LAC
DJ Uiagalelei: Fails to make 53-man roster
The Chargers are waiving Uiagalelei on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Uiagalelei signed with the team in April shortly after going undrafted out of Florida State. With all of Justin Herbert, Taylor Heinicke and Trey Lance entrenched above him on the depth chart, he seems a candidate to resurface on the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Case Keenum QB | CHI
Bears' Case Keenum: Secures roster spot
Bears head coach Ben Johnson said Keenum (leg) will be one of three quarterbacks on Chicago's initial 53-man roster, behind starter Caleb Williams and newly extended backup Tyson Bagent, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Keenum, who picked up a leg injury mid-August and is reportedly considered day-to-day, appears in line to contribute as the Bears' emergency No. 3 quarterback this season. What the 37-year-old veteran brings to the table as a mentor for Williams and Bagent may, ultimately, be as valuable to Chicago as his ability to capably pilot the offense under center if needed.

Sean Clifford QB | CIN
Sean Clifford: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers waived Clifford on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Both Clifford and Taylor Elgersma were cut by the Packers on Tuesday, leaving Malik Willis behind Jordan Love (thumb) at quarterback for the Packers. Clifford was a fifth-round pick out of Penn State in 2023 and performed three kneel-downs in two appearances with the Packers as a rookie. He hasn't played in a regular-season NFL game since and completed nine of 17 passes for a minuscule 44 yards this preseason, averaging a microscopic 2.6 yards per attempt.

Trevor Siemian QB | ATL
Trevor Siemian: Let go by Tennessee
The Titans cut Siemian on Tuesday, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Siemian signed with Tennessee earlier this month and completed eight of 11 pass attempts for 68 scoreless yards this preseason. Kuharsky notes that the Titans want to bring Siemian back on the practice squad.

Kedon Slovis QB | ARI
Kedon Slovis: Dumped by Houston
The Texans waived Slovis on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Slovis played 85 offensive snaps this preseason, completing 27 of 43 pass attempts for 233 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The former BYU quarterback could be an option for the practice squad.

Jake Haener QB | KC
Jake Haener: Parts ways with Saints
New Orleans waived Haener on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Haener, a 2023 fourth-round pick, entered training camp in competition with Spencer Rattler and rookie Tyler Shough for the Week 1 starting gig, but he quickly became solidified as the No. 3 option on the depth chart. He'll likely resurface on the practice squad and serve as the Saints' emergency third-string quarterback, assuming he clears waivers.
-
Desmond Ridder QB | GB
Desmond Ridder: Let go by Cincinnati
The Bengals waived Ridder on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Ridder inked with Cincinnati in July and spent training camp and the preseason with the team, but he ultimately couldn't push Jake Browning for the No. 2 quarterback gig behind Joe Burrow. After now having picked up the Bengals' scheme, however, Ridder will be a strong candidate for a practice-squad spot if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Easton Stick QB | IND
Easton Stick: Let go by Atlanta
The Falcons released Stick on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Stick was unable to force the Falcons to keep a third quarterback behind Michael Penix and Kirk Cousins after completing 54 of 78 pass attempts for 520 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions this preseason. The 29-year-old could be a candidate to rejoin the team via the practice squad.
-
Taylor Elgersma QB | GB
Taylor Elgersma: Cut by Green Bay
The Packers waived Elgersma on Tuesday, Bill Huber of SI.com reports.
Undrafted out of Wilfrid Laurier, Elgersma was selected in the CFL Draft but opted to spend the summer with Green Bay. He took 73 offensive snaps and completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 166 yards and one touchdown during the preseason.

Tommy DeVito QB | NE
Tommy DeVito: Can't make final roster
The Giants waived DeVito on Tuesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
New York won't carry DeVito on the 53-man roster with all of Russell Wilson, Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston already guaranteed spots, and a fourth QB seeming superfluous given the team's needs across the board. Across three regular-season appearances (two starts) in 2024, DeVito completed 31 of 44 passes for 257 yards with zero touchdowns while rushing eight times for 32 yards. The Giants will likely hope DeVito makes it back to the practice squad, but a QB-needy team could claim him on waivers.
