Jake Moody K | WAS
49ers' Jake Moody: Out again in Week 7
Moody (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Moody sustained a right high-ankle sprain Week 5 against the Cardinals, and coach Kyle Shanahan said afterward that the kicker would require roughly a month to recover from the injury. Consequently, it's no surprise that Moody is missing a second game in a row, and the 49ers will be using a third kicker in as many contests this weekend after Matthew Wright emerged from Week 6 with shoulder and back issues that will require an IR stint. Anders Carlson, who is on San Francisco's practice squad, is lined up to handle placekicking duties Sunday and potentially beyond that point.

Tyler Bass K | BUF
Bills' Tyler Bass: Set to kick Sunday
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Friday that Bass will handle the Bills' kicking duties Sunday against the Titans, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.
Though the Bills signed Lucas Havrisik to their practice squad Thursday, the team will stick with Bass this weekend. Through six games to date, Bass -- who has been Buffalo's kicker since 2020 -- has gone 9-for-12 on field-goal tries and made 18 of his 20 extra-point attempts.

Wil Lutz K | DEN
Broncos' Wil Lutz: Continues perfect streak
Lutz made all four of his field-goal attempts while also converting all three of his extra-point tries in Thursday's 33-10 win over the Saints.
Lutz connected on field goals from 32, 38, 46 and 52 yards out Thursday in what was ultimately a blowout win over New Orleans. The veteran kicker was responsible for 15 of the Broncos 33 points in the contest, and has now made all but one kick this season. Lutz boasts an impressive 94 percent field-goal percentage through seven games, ranking him as one of the league's top kickers. The 30-year-old could see several opportunities in scoring range when Denver squares off against Carolina's vulnerable defense in Week 8.

Matthew Wright K | HOU
49ers' Matthew Wright: Misses practice Thursday
Wright (shoulder/back) did not participate at the 49ers' practice Thursday.
Wright was forced to miss a second straight practice to open the week as he tends to shoulder and back injuries. The kicker injured himself making a tackle in San Francisco's win over the Seahawks in Week 6 and his availability for Week 7 is now in question. Wright will look to return to practice Friday, but if he can't go Sunday against Kansas City, Anders Carlson will likely be elevated to the active roster in his place. Top placekicker Jake Moody (ankle) was also unavailable for Thursday's session and seems unlikely to go in Week 7.

Tyler Bass K | BUF
Bills' Tyler Bass: Job less safe
The Bills signed Lucas Havrisik to the practice squad Thursday, shortly after general manager Brandon Beane made some comments about Bass's recent struggles.
"We do have some kickers," Beane said earlier this week as reported by the Bills' official site. "We're gonna work them out this afternoon after practice," Beane said. "T-Bass would be the first to tell you it hasn't gone the way he would like it. And, quite frankly, the way we like it." Bass is a tolerable 9-for-12 on field goals, but his misses have been ugly, including a downright shank in Monday's win over the Jets that even a terrible golfer would find cringeworthy. He's also missed two extra points this season after being lock-solid on those throughout his career. The Bills do have a good scoring matchup this week as heavy favorites at home against the Titans, but Bass managers will want to take an extra peek at the roster over the weekend. Fortunately, the Bills play in the early wave of games Sunday following a string of heavy primetime appearances.

Lucas Havrisik K | GB
Lucas Havrisik: Joins Bills' practice squad
Buffalo signed Havrisik to the practice squad Thursday.
Havrisik spent time with the Browns during the offseason, and he went 15-for-20 on field-goal attempts across nine appearances with the Rams in 2023. His presence on the practice squad provides Buffalo with some insurance behind Tyler Bass, who has converted nine of 12 field-goal attempts and 18 of 20 PATs through six games this season.

Matthew Wright K | HOU
49ers' Matthew Wright: Sits out practice Wednesday
Wright (shoulder) was held out of practice Wednesday.
Wright injured his shoulder while making a tackle late in last Thursday's win over Seattle. An MRI returned negative, and early indications were that Wright would be be able to avoid missing any time, but his absence to begin the practice week casts at least a little doubt on his status for Sunday's game against Kansas City. Jake Moody -- who is the 49ers' kicker when healthy -- is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain and isn't likely to be ready to play Week 7, so if Wright joins him on the sideline, San Francisco would likely elevate Anders Carlson from the practice squad to handle kicking duties Sunday.

Greg Joseph K | LV
Giants' Greg Joseph: Kicking again in Week 7
Joseph is expected to serve as the Giants' kicker for Sunday's game against the Eagles after head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Graham Gano (hamstring) won't return from injured reserve this week, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Joseph has kicked for the Giants over the past four games, but it wasn't immediately clear whether the team would stick with him after he missed both of his field-goal attempts in the Week 6 loss to the Bengals. However, with Gano out for another week and the Giants bringing in no other kickers this week, Joseph will be in line for another opportunity Sunday.

Spencer Shrader K | IND
Spencer Shrader: Cut from practice squad
The Colts cut Shrader from the practice squad Wednesday.
Shrader has bounced on and off Indianapolis' practice squad multiple times this season, and he's now been let go to make room for running back Salvon Ahmed. While filling in for an injured Matt Gay in Week 1, Shrader converted all three of his extra-point tries. It won't be surprising if he resurfaces with the Colts in some capacity again this year.

Graham Gano K | NYG
Giants' Graham Gano: Won't return Week 7
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Gano (hamstring) won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Gano has missed the required four games, but the veteran placekicker has not yet made enough progress in his recovery from his right hamstring injury to resume practicing. Greg Joseph should once again serve as the Giants' kicker Sunday, despite the fact that he missed both his field-goal tries during New York's loss to the Bengals in Week 6.
