Griffin Conine RF | MIA
Marlins' Griffin Conine: Pulled with hamstring injury
Conine was removed from Thursday's game versus the Reds in the top of the sixth inning with left hamstring discomfort, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Conine attempted a diving catch in left field and then got up grabbing the back of his leg before walking off with the Marlins' trainer. He was hitless in two plate appearances before exiting. Miami should have more information on Conine's injury after the game, but he could be headed for the injured list.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Exits Thursday's game with injury
Rooker departed Thursday's game versus the Yankees in the first inning with an undisclosed injury, the "Talkin' Baseball" podcast by Jomboy Media reports.
Rooker took a healthy cut at a Ryan Weathers changeup and fouled it off but looked to tweak something in the process. He was visited by the Athletics trainer and quickly retreated to the clubhouse. The A's should provide more clarity on Rooker's injury soon. Lawrence Butler replaced Rooker in Thursday's contest.

Nick Nastrini SP | LAD
Nick Nastrini: Cut loose by Dodgers
The Dodgers released Nastrini on Tuesday.
Nastrini held an 8.56 ERA and 49:50 K:BB over 47.1 innings at the Triple-A level last season. This season, he made only one appearance with Double-A Tulsa, walking all three batters he faced. The 26-year-old has always had control problems, but they've gotten so bad to this point that he might have the yips.

Kyle Stowers RF | MIA
Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Cleared for rehab games
Stowers (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Stowers will play for Jacksonville on Friday, take Saturday off and then return to action Sunday for the Jumbo Shrimp as he eases back into game action following a right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old will take over in left field when he's ready to rejoin the Marlins, but Stowers is also under consideration for reps at first base.

Joel Peguero P | SF
Giants' Joel Peguero: Scoreless inning in rehab game
Peguero (hamstring) earned a hold and struck out two in a scoreless inning during Triple-A Sacramento's 5-3 win over Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Peguero was placed on the 15-day injured list March 25 (retroactive to March 22) with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and began a rehab assignment with the River Cats on Tuesday. The right-hander experienced hamstring tightness in mid-February and didn't play in any Cactus League games before ultimately landing on the injured list, but he appears to be trending in the right direction. The 28-year-old made his big-league debut in 2025 with the Giants, recording a 2.42 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB across 22.1 innings in 17 outings.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Throws 40-pitch bullpen session
Rodon (elbow/hamstring) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Rodon felt normal soreness after his previous bullpen session this past weekend, but it seems he got through Thursday's workout with no hiccups. The Yankees will wait to see how the southpaw bounces back before determining the next step, but Rodon should be nearing a rehab assignment. He's coming back from offseason elbow surgery, and he's also dealt with some hamstring tightness of late.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Yankees' Gerrit Cole: Facing hitters Sunday
Cole (elbow) will face hitters at High-A Hudson Valley on Sunday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
It could be the final step for Cole before he's cleared to begin a rehab assignment, though the Yankees have yet to confirm as much. Making his way back from Tommy John surgery, Cole made a couple Grapefruit League appearances, but he will still require several rehab starts before rejoining the Yankees' rotation. The former Cy Young winner is expected to make his season debut sometime in May.

Shane Drohan SP | MIL
Brewers' Shane Drohan: Optioned after spot start
The Brewers optioned Drohan to Triple-A Nashville on Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Drohan permitted three runs on three hits and four walks over 2.2 innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday in his major-league debut. The Brewers have not announced a corresponding roster move, but they're expected to bring up a reliever prior to Friday's game versus the Nationals.

Jimmy Herget RP | COL
Rockies' Jimmy Herget: Serving as opener Thursday
Herget will be the Rockies' opening pitcher in Thursday's game at San Diego.
The Rockies aren't revealing their pitching plans for Thursday post-Herget, but Chase Dollander is likely to cover the bulk of the innings. Herget is off to a fine start this season, yielding just one run with a 6:0 K:BB over six innings.

Ben Rice 1B | NYY
Yankees' Ben Rice: Getting start against lefty
Rice is starting at first base and batting fifth in Thursday's game versus the Athletics.
Rice was not in the lineup the first time the Yankees faced a lefty earlier this season, but he's in there Thursday over the right-handed-hitting Paul Goldschmidt against southpaw Jeffrey Springs. Springs is not a hard thrower and has reverse splits in his career, and it's that type of lefty Rice is likely to get opportunities against.
