Grant Taylor RP | CHW
White Sox's Grant Taylor: Will not be used as starter in 2026
White Sox general manager Chris Getz said Tuesday that he does not anticipate Taylor being used as a starting pitcher this season, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Director of pitching Brian Bannister said earlier Tuesday during an appearance on the Mully & Haugh Show that Taylor could continue to be stretched out if he is used more as an opener. However, Getz offered more clarity in reiterating that Taylor will not be used in the rotation this season. The goal is for the righty to stretch out to around 100 innings in 2026 before transitioning back to a starting pitcher role in 2027. Taylor has been lights out in a bullpen role so far this season, posting a 1.08 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB in 8.1 innings.

Freddy Fermin C | SD
Padres' Freddy Fermin: Idle Tuedsay
Fermin isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Fermin will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after slashing just .190/.308/.286 over 10 games since the beginning of April. While he sits, Luis Campusano will start behind the plate and bat eighth.

Nick Yorke 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Yorke: Sitting down Tuesday

Henry Davis RF | PIT
Pirates' Henry Davis: Resting Tuesday
Davis isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Washington.
Davis will retreat to the bench Tuesday after going 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored and a steal in Monday's series opener. Joey Bart will handle catching duties instead and bat ninth.

Harrison Bader CF | SF
Giants' Harrison Bader: Nursing minor hamstring injury
Bader has been dealing with a minor left hamstring injury since spring training, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It helps explain why he's out of the Giants' lineup Tuesday for the second straight game. Bader first tweaked his hamstring less than a week before Opening Day, and it seems the injury is still bothering him. It could at least partly explain the veteran outfielder's lackluster .115/.145/.192 batting line in his first 15 contests this season. At this point, it does not seem the injured list is under consideration for Bader. Jared Oliva is starting in center field and batting ninth Tuesday in Cincinnati in Bader's absence.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Giants' Luis Arraez: Good to go Tuesday
Arraez (wrist) is starting at second base and batting second Tuesday against the Reds, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Arraez was held out of the lineup Sunday after leaving Saturday's contest with a wrist contusion, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after Monday's team off day. The 29-year-old has a .304/.339/.393 slash line with a double, two triples, two steals, six RBI and six runs through 15 games this season.

Kutter Crawford SP | BOS
Red Sox's Kutter Crawford: Pulled off rehab assignment
The Red Sox have pulled Crawford (wrist) off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Worcester, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Crawford made one start for Worcester, permitting five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five over three innings. He's working his way back from the right wrist surgery that he had last summer, though it's unclear at this point whether the setback is related to that or something else. The Red Sox should have more on Crawford's status soon.

Lourdes Gurriel LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: Kicking off rehab assignment
Gurriel (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo on Wednesday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Gurriel has been playing in extended spring training action and is ready to test things out in an official game setting. Working his way back from surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee, Gurriel will play seven innings for Amarillo in his first game and build up from there. He is expected to be limited to designated-hitter duties initially upon his return to the Diamondbacks.

Griff McGarry SP | PHI
Dodgers' Griff McGarry: Traded to Dodgers
The Dodgers acquired McGarry from the Phillies on Tuesday in exchange for international bonus pool money.
McGarry was returned to the Phillies after failing to make the Nationals' roster as a Rule 5 pick, and he's now on the move again. The 26-year-old has a big arm but has really struggled with command and control, having posted a career walk rate of 15.9 percent. The Dodgers will try to coax more out of him.
