Chivilli (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Following last week's trade deadline, Chivilli was optioned to Triple-A by the Yankees after posting a 3.78 ERA, 1.126 WHIP and 16:7 K:BB across 16.2 innings out of the New York bullpen. He'll be sidelined for at least the next week.

Crews is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Mets.

It's a routine day of rest for Crews, who had started in each of the last nine contests. Jose Tena, Jacob Young and Daylen Lile will patrol the outfield for the Nationals in Friday's series opener.

The Blue Jays optioned Estrada to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

With Paul Sewald reporting to the team, Estrada will head back to the minors after being with the team for 24 hours. Estrada has appeared in eight games out of the Toronto bullpen this season, posting a 5.54 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 9:10 K:BB across 13 innings.

Alonso is batting leadoff Friday against the Rays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Alonso will be playing in his 1,130th career regular-season game Friday, and it will be the first time he's ever hit leadoff. The star first baseman has been one of the few bright spots for Baltimore this season, slashing .259/.353/.480 with 26 home runs, 77 RBI, 74 runs scored, five stolen bases and a 61:127 BB:K across 524 trips to the plate. Gunnar Henderson has moved down to the fifth spot in the lineup.

Altuve (foot) is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Altuve exited Tuesday's game against the Giants after he was hit by a pitch on the left foot and was out of the lineup Wednesday ahead of Thursday's off day. Against Mariners righty George Kirby, Altuve is playing second base and batting fifth.

The Athletics announced Friday that Sterner underwent right knee surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.

Sterner underwent a "chondroplasty of the medial femoral condyle" and also received a PRP injection. The 29-year-old appeared in 46 games out of the Athletics' bullpen this season, logging a 6.12 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB across 42.2 innings. He hasn't pitched since July 17.

Mets interim manager Andy Green said Friday that Vientos (hand) has begun baseball activities, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Vientos is finally ready to ease back into workouts after missing more than a month of action with a fractured right hand. There's no timetable yet for the infielder's return, and he is likely to require a rehab assignment before being reinstated to the active roster.

Atlanta manager Walt Weiss said that Lopez (knee) completed a bullpen session Tuesday, Jesus Cano of The Athletic reports.

Shortly after Lopez landed on the 15-day injured list Aug. 2 due to left knee inflammation, Weiss indicated that Lopez was expected to return when first eligible Friday. The 32-year-old righty looks like he'll need at least a little extra time beyond that before being activated, and he may also be headed for a role change upon his return. Though Weiss noted Tuesday that he still views Lopez as a starter, the skipper noted that Lopez could be an option out of the bullpen, depending on the club's needs. Atlanta has gotten excellent results from trade-deadline pickup Tyler Mahle in his first two starts, and Weiss may prefer to keep Mahle in the rotation ahead of Lopez, who had started in his last six appearances prior to landing on the shelf and posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 28 innings over that span.

Hill (oblique) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Double-A Akron on Friday.

Hill hasn't played since June 24 due to a strained oblique. The 22-year-old has slashed .257/.390/.524 with 11 home runs, 45 RBI, 43 runs scored, nine stolen bases and a 40:49 BB:K across 237 plate appearances between High-A Lake County and Akron this season.

Lively (elbow) was activated from the 60-day injured list at Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

Lively underwent UCL reconstruction surgery on his right elbow in May 2025 and made four rehab starts at High-A Lake County, posting a 17.28 ERA, 3.12 WHIP and 7:5 K:BB across 8.1 innings. Lively had a 3.22 ERA and 29:15 K:BB across nine starts with Cleveland last season prior to his injury.
