Mack is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Mack will rest during Wednesday's matinee after starting at catcher each of the previous three days. Brian Navarreto will be behind the dish as the Marlins go for the sweep.

Rivero (hand) began a rehab assignment Saturday and has gone 3-for-7 with a home run in his first two rehab contests.

Rivero played one rehab game in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League before being moved up to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday. The catcher has been out since early June following left hamate bone surgery. It's not a given that Rivero will be returned to the Angels' roster once he's physically ready.

Wong went 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Athletics.

Wong entered the game in the eighth inning after starter Carlos Narvaez was removed for a pinch hitter. The Red Sox rallied from a 3-0 deficit over the final two innings, which included Wong's two-run homer in the ninth, but the rally fell short. He's batting just .182 (4-for-22) with nine strikeouts since the break.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and a walk in Tuesday's 8-7 extra-innings loss to the Diamondbacks.

Lowe's two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth allowed the Pirates to force extra innings, but Pittsburgh would end up losing in 12 innings. Lowe has been seeing the ball well lately, and this was his third consecutive multi-hit contest. He's hitting .314 with an .861 OPS, a homer, three doubles, five RBI and six runs scored since the All-Star break.

Gonzalez started at second base and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Athletics.

Gonzalez got the start at second base in the first game since Boston lost Curtis Mead to a fractured left wrist. Mead was expected to be the primary starter at the keystone, but that role will now be filled by a combination of Gonzalez (against lefties) and Anthony Seigler (against righties).

Dotel (1-3) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Diamondbacks after allowing an unearned run on two hits and a walk across two innings. He didn't record a strikeout.

Dotel pitched the 11th and 12th innings, and he gave up the deciding run of the game in the 12th on an RBI single from James McCann that scored Tyler Locklear. Dotel has yet to allow an earned run in three outings and six innings since returning from the injured list July 18 after missing more than a month with a lat problem. He owns a 4.44 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP across 24.1 innings and 12 outings with the Pirates in 2026.

The Phillies sent Trivino (back) to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Trivino's first scheduled rehab outing was rained out Tuesday, but he's ready to appear in games after missing the last three-plus weeks with a right thoracic muscle spasm. The veteran reliever has made five appearances in the majors this season between the Orioles and Phillies, yielding 10 runs with a 7:7 K:BB across six frames.

Gusto is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies at loanDepot Park.

Gusto will be making his second straight turn through the Miami rotation as a replacement for the injured Max Meyer (neck). The right-hander took the hill on two days' rest his last time out Friday against the Padres and was lifted after tossing 3.1 innings and 57 pitches, but he should have a slightly longer leash Wednesday.

Chandler didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Diamondbacks despite allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk across four innings. He struck out three.

Chandler appeared headed for his ninth loss of the season, but the Pirates scored six runs between the eighth and ninth innings, so Chandler was able to escape with a no-decision. Still, he hasn't been consistent lately. Over his last six starts, the 24-year-old has three outings in which he's allowed two runs or fewer, and three in which he's given up at least four runs. Chandler will look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively scheduled for Sunday at Cincinnati.

Atlanta activated Smith-Shawver (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Smith-Shawver will start the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Mets in what will be his first outing in the majors since he underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2025. The right-hander looked sharp in five rehab starts, collecting a 1.53 ERA and 21:5 K:BB over 17.2 innings. Smith-Shawver threw 86 pitches in his final rehab outing with Triple-A Gwinnett last Thursday, so he should be capable of working long enough in Wednesday's start to qualify for a win. He's not currently scheduled for any additional starts with Atlanta, but Smith-Shawver could force his way into the club's immediate plans if he pitches well Wednesday.
