Murakami (hamstring) will report to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Murakami suffered a Grade 2 right hamstring strain in late May and landed on the 10-day injured list. The star rookie will likely need a couple of games in the minors to get his timing back at the plate, but he appears on track to rejoin the big-league squad before the All-Star break. Jacob Gonzalez has been hitting well over the past few weeks as Chicago's primary first baseman, but he'll likely lose out on playing time when Murakami is activated.

Sproat allowed a run on five hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Sproat was inefficient Sunday, throwing 55 of 92 pitches for strikes in this short start. Since the beginning of June, he has allowed 11 runs over 30 innings across six starts. He's at a 5.13 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 84:37 K:BB across 79 innings through 17 games (15 starts) this season, but he's trending in the right direction. Sproat should remain in the rotation even with Logan Henderson (back) slated to return during the coming week, as Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) was shelved following his injury Saturday. Sproat is projected to make his next start at Pittsburgh.

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies.

Schmitt went 5-for-13 with a homer and a double during the three-game series in Colorado. He had gone 0-for-12 in the Giants' previous series versus the Diamondbacks. The utility man is batting .283 with an .806 OPS, 17 homers, 45 RBI, 39 runs scored, 16 doubles, one triple and seven stolen bases over 81 games this season. Schmitt has taken on a starting role at third base since Matt Chapman (abdomen) got hurt.

Gilbert went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and a third RBI in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies.

Gilbert made the most of his chance to start in center field, posting his first multi-hit game since June 20 versus the Marlins. He's mostly been in a bench role lately, going 6-for-19 over his last 13 contests. For the season, the outfielder is batting .243 with a .714 OPS, four homers, 19 RBI, 21 runs scored, nine doubles, two triples and no stolen bases over 198 plate appearances. Gilbert remains in the mix primarily in center field, though he's competing with Jung Hoo Lee and Jonah Cox.

Devers went 2-for-5 with a pair of solo home runs in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Rockies.

Devers had solo shots in the fourth and fifth innings off Tanner Gordon. This performance extended Devers' hitting streak to nine games, a span in which he has gone 12-for-33 (.364) with six long balls and nine RBI. For the season, he's batting .248 with a .791 OPS, 18 homers, 47 RBI, 43 runs scored, 24 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 89 contests.

Garver went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Blue Jays.

Garver provided some offense in what was largely a pitchers' duel, driving a two-run homer to left field off Trey Yesavage in the fourth inning. Since Cal Raleigh returned from the injured list June 16, Garver has seen limited playing time but drew the start behind the plate Sunday with Raleigh serving as the designated hitter. On the year, Garver is slashing .194/.325/.330 with four homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored across 123 plate appearances.

Mahle allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and struck out five without walking a batter over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Sunday.

Mahle was mostly able to limit mistakes, but the Rockies still got enough traffic on the bases to make this a tough outing. He has given up just one home run over three starts since he returned from a hamstring strain, which has helped him avoid truly awful starts. He's still struggling overall with a 5.70 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 69:29 K:BB through 71 innings over 14 starts. Mahle is lined up for a rematch at home versus the Rockies in his next start.

Rumfield went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Giants.

Rumfield has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games, a span that includes eight multi-hit efforts. However, he's now gone 13 contests without a home run, matching his longest power drought of the year. The first baseman is batting .301 with an .874 OPS, 12 homers, 47 RBI, 42 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples and no stolen bases over his first 88 big-league games. As long as he's consistent at the plate, he has little chance of losing out on a near-everyday role.

Karros went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Giants.

Karros delivered the go-ahead blast in the eighth inning, and it ended up being the decisive play of the game. Over his last 13 games, he's gone 14-for-39 (.359) with three homers and nine RBI. For the season, the third baseman is batting .263 with a .786 OPS, seven homers, 29 RBI, 44 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples and three stolen bases over 86 contests.

Jansen tossed a scoreless inning of relief to earn the save in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

Jansen needed only eight pitches to retire Texas in order as he efficiently earned his 10th save of the season in 14 chances. The veteran reliever has had some ups and downs this year, including allowing four earned runs over 2.2 innings in his three most recent appearances before Sunday's improved effort. Overall, Jansen is sitting with a 4.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 23 strikeouts across 21.2 innings this season, making him a volatile fantasy option so far in his first campaign with the Tigers.
