Pedro Pages C | STL
Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Idle Friday
Pages isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against San Diego.
Pages will get a breather after going 0-for-14 with five strikeouts over his last four games. Ivan Herrera will handle catching duties Friday while Nolan Gorman works as the DH, opening up third base for Cesar Prieto.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Increasing activity
O'Hoppe (wrist) began catching off a machine, hitting on the field and running the bases Friday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
O'Hoppe seems to be making significant strides in his recovery from a wrist fracture he suffered in late April, though he said the biggest test will be catching full bullpen sessions and hitting against velocity. It's unknown when the Angels plan to advance him to that stage in his rehab, though the team still likely plans to bring him back before the end of the month. Travis d'Arnaud will continue to work as the primary catcher until then.

Hunter Brown SP | HOU
Astros' Hunter Brown: Throws bullpen session
Brown (shoulder) threw a successful bullpen session Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The right-hander continues to progress in his throwing program after landing on the injured list in early April due to a Grade 2 shoulder strain. Brown will likely need at least a few more bullpen sessions before being cleared to face live batters and eventually embarking on a rehab assignment.

Moises Ballesteros C | CHC
Cubs' Moises Ballesteros: Taking seat Friday
Ballesteros isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.
Ballesteros will take a day to regroup after going 0-for-11 at the plate across his last four games. Michael Conforto will step in as the Cubs' designated hitter and bat second.

Ryan Waldschmidt CF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ryan Waldschmidt: Will wait to make first start
Waldschmidt is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.
Though Arizona officially called up the 23-year-old earlier Friday after he posted a .877 OPS with three home runs and six steals in 34 games at Triple-A Reno, he'll be spared from a tough matchup with Mets righty Nolan McLean. With Arizona designating Alek Thomas for assignment, the expectation is that Waldschmidt will eventually settle in as the team's new primary center fielder, but Jorge Barrosa will occupy the position for the series opener.

Noah Cameron P | KC
Royals' Noah Cameron: Confirmed for start Sunday
Manager Matt Quatraro said Friday that Cameron (back) will start Sunday's game against the Tigers, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Cameron was scratched from his last scheduled start Tuesday against Cleveland due to back tightness. After he made it through a bullpen session Thursday without any problems, Cameron will avoid a stint on the injured list and return to the rotation this weekend to face a Detroit lineup that's posted a .669 OPS over its last 10 games.

Justin Verlander SP | DET
Tigers' Justin Verlander: Facing hitters Saturday
Verlander (hip) will throw a live batting practice session Saturday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Verlander has been throwing bullpen sessions at nearly full intensity since Sunday, and Saturday will mark his first time facing live hitters since landing on the IL in early April. The Tigers haven't provided a timeline for the 43-year-old's return yet, though that may change once they see how he comes out of Saturday's round of BP.

Will Vest RP | DET
Tigers' Will Vest: Receives cortisone injection
Vest (forearm) received a cortisone injection Friday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Vest landed on the injured list Saturday due to inflammation in his right forearm. He's expected to resume throwing within the next several days, though it's unknown whether he'll be ready to return from the IL when eligible Thursday.

Ethan Roberts RP | CHC
Cubs' Ethan Roberts: Returns from IL
The Cubs reinstated Roberts (finger) from the 15-day injured list Friday.
The right-hander has been on the shelf nearly a month due to a right middle finger laceration, but he's ready to rejoin the Cubs after a five-outing rehab assignment. Roberts has made just three appearances in the majors this year and has pitched 2.2 scoreless frames.
