Cincinnati optioned Nicolas to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Nicolas spent the past two weeks on the big-league roster and got into seven games, struggling to an 8.59 ERA, 2.86 WHIP and 7:13 K:BB over 7.1 innings. That damage was largely a result of two poor outings during which he yielded a combined seven runs across 1.2 frames; in his other five appearances, he wasn't charged with any earned runs. Nonetheless, Nicolas' awful 31.0 percent walk rate is likely something he'll be tasked with working on while in the minors.

Abrams isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Abrams isn't typically someone who sits down against left-handed starters, but the Nats will give the lefty-hitting infielder a break Saturday with lefty-throwing Noah Schultz on the bump for Chicago. Nasim Nunez will slide over to short as a result, opening up second base for Curtis Mead.

The Reds placed Suarez (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to April 24.

Suarez is dealing with a "mild" left oblique strain and will miss at least 10 days, though it's not clear at this point if his absence will extend longer. Suarez has spent most of his time this season at DH, and Cincinnati could deploy different hitters in that spot while the veteran slugger is out. Nathaniel Lowe got the start at DH on Friday and could be the biggest beneficiary in terms of playing time.

The Nationals recalled Chaparro from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.

Chaparro was optioned to Triple-A after Washington's season-opening series and has since slashed .227/.301/.394 with three homers, 11 RBI and nine runs scored through 73 plate appearances at Rochester. Despite his uninspiring results, he'll return to the majors Saturday to provide depth at the corner infield positions.

The Padres recalled Song from Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

The Padres will be allowed to carry a 27th man on their roster during the Mexico City Series against Arizona, so Song will join the big club to provide extra infield depth. The 29-year-old has slashed .293/.369/.320 with 12 RBI and nine runs scored through 20 Triple-A games and will be making his MLB debut if he gets into a game this weekend.

Abbott came away with a no-decision in Friday's 9-8 win over Detroit, coughing up five runs on six hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Four of the six hits off the southpaw went for extra bases, including solo shots by Riley Greene in the second inning and Javier Baez in the third. It's the first time this season Abbott has served up multiple homers in the same game, but he's failed to complete five innings in three straight trips to the mound while surrendering a ghastly 16 runs (15 earned) in 11.2 frames over that stretch, He'll carry a 6.59 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 19:13 K:BB through 28.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Rockies.

Quintana and the Rockies won't play the Mets on Saturday, as the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The two sides will play two games Sunday to make up for Saturday's contest, and Quintana will likely get the nod to start one of them. The 37-year-old has had a rough start to the year so far, posting a 6.23 ERA and 1.85 WHIP while turning in a 4:9 K:BB through his first 13 innings (three starts).

Rolison (1-0) tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Friday's 6-4 victory over the Dodgers. He allowed two hits and struck out one.

Rolison entered in the sixth inning with the Cubs down 4-0. The lefty pitched well enough to keep his team in the game, and then picked up his first win with Chicago and second at the MLB level when the Cubs rallied with six runs across the final three frames. This was just the second appearance of the season for Rolison, who was called up from Triple-A Iowa on April 14. He appeared in 31 games for the Rockies last year, posting a 7.02 ERA across 42.1 innings.

Senga and the Mets won't face the Rockies on Saturday, as the game was postponed due to rain.

New York and Colorado will play a doubleheader Sunday to make up for Saturday's contest, and Senga will likely take the mound to start one of the two games. The 33-year-old will be looking to turn things around after giving up 13 earned runs in just 5.2 innings over his last two starts.

Doyle went 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a stolen base Friday against the Mets.

Doyle was out of the lineup for Colorado's prior two games, though he returned to start in center field Friday. He played a key role in the team's fifth-inning rally, singling to center before coming around to score. Doyle later swiped his sixth bag of the season, four of which have come in his last 10 games. Despite the strong showing Friday, Doyle is hitting only .219 with two RBI and 11 runs scored across 26 games to begin the campaign.
