Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Back in lineup
Ohtani (paternity) will serve as the Dodgers' designated hitter and bat leadoff Saturday against the Orioles, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
After missing Friday's game for the birth of his second child, Ohtani will rejoin the team Saturday and reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' leadoff man. He's tallied just two hits across his last five games but still boasts a .360/.484/.760 slash line in 62 plate appearances since the beginning of June.

David Peterson SP | NYM
Mets' David Peterson: Tapped for start Sunday
Peterson will start Sunday's game against the Phillies in Philadelphia, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.
Peterson has surrendered nine earned runs in just 6.2 innings across his last two appearances out of the bullpen, but the Mets will nonetheless turn to him to fill the open spot in their rotation in the series finale. The Phillies have turned in a weak .670 OPS across their last 10 contests, but the 30-year-old southpaw's recent performance puts a low ceiling on his fantasy appeal.

Tim Tawa LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Recalled from Reno
The Diamondbacks recalled Tawa from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Tawa was sent down to Triple-A at the beginning of June after posting a .519 OPS across 70 plate appearances, but he's slashed .351/.439/.772 with five homers, 16 RBI and 13 runs scored in 15 games at Reno. He'll now rejoin the Diamondbacks as the replacement for the injured Jordan Lawlar (hamstring), though Tawa will likely be limited to a bench role while Jorge Barrosa receives an uptick in playing time.

Philip Abner RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Philip Abner: Back with D-backs
The Diamondbacks recalled Abner from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Abner will return to the big leagues to replace Michael Soroka, who landed on the injured list Saturday with a glute strain. Abner has given up seven earned runs in just 3.2 innings with the big club this season and will likely be limited to low-leverage situations while in the majors.

Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Michael Soroka: Placed on injured list
The Diamondbacks placed Soroka on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to a strained left glute.
Soroka suffered the injury while warming up for the second inning of Friday's start against the Twins, putting a premature end to his evening. He'll now be forced to sit out through at least the beginning of July, though he may still be able to make a few more starts before the All-Star break, depending on how quickly he can recover. Philip Abner was recalled from Triple-A Reno to give Arizona extra bullpen depth while the team sorts out its rotation plans.

Jordan Lawlar LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Lands on injured list
The Diamondbacks placed Lawlar on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring strain.
Lawlar had to come out of Friday's game after legging out an infield single, and he was later diagnosed with a hamstring strain. He'll now spend at least the next 10 days on the shelf, leaving Jorge Barrosa as the favorite to take over as Arizona's primary center fielder. Tim Tawa was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

Kyle Karros 3B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Karros: Idle Saturday
Karros isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh.
Karros will get a breather Saturday after going 0-for-3 during Friday's game. Willi Castro will slide to the hot corner while Karros sits, giving Edouard Julien a start at second base.
-
Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: In Saturday's lineup
Turner (calf) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff Saturday against the Mets.
Turner made an early exit from Thursday's game after taking a pitch off his calf, but he's now ready to return to the starting nine following the team off day Friday. The 32-year-old currently owns a career-low .610 OPS on the year and has been even worse since the start of June, slashing just .224/.286/.276 with two RBI, nine runs scored and four steals across his last 15 games.

Liam Hicks C | MIA
Marlins' Liam Hicks: Scratched with back tightness
Hicks was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants due to lower-back tightness, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Hicks has tallied a base hit in each of the Marlins' last 10 games, but he'll be forced to sit out Saturday's contest to give his back a chance to heal. Owen Caissie will slide into the DH spot while Hicks sits, opening up right field for Esteury Ruiz.

Daniel Palencia RP | CHC
Cubs' Daniel Palencia: MRI reveals flexor strain
Palencia was diagnosed with a mild flexor strain in his right arm Saturday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Manager Craig Counsell said that Palencia will be shut down from throwing for about a week, at which point the team will re-evaluate him. A clearer timeline for his return to the bullpen may emerge once he's cleared to begin a throwing program. In the meantime, Caleb Thielbar, Jacob Webb and Phil Maton all could be in the mix for saves.
