Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Drives in pair
Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Reds.
Gonzales has been in the lineup for all six games early in the season, though he was moved up the order to hit second Tuesday. Both of his knocks came late in the game, highlighted by a two-RBI single in the ninth inning. Gonzales has been solid to start the campaign, collecting at least one hit in five of six contests while driving in five and scoring four runs.

Bryan Reynolds LF | PIT
Pirates' Bryan Reynolds: Homers in second straight
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Reds.
Reynolds began the season 3-for-18 with eight strikeouts across four starts, but he's quickly turned things around. He took Emilio Pagan yard in the ninth inning to provide some insurance runs to the Pirates, his second homer in as many games. Reynolds has started all six games and hit third in Pittsburgh's order.

Andy Pages CF | LAD
Dodgers' Andy Pages: Perfect at plate Wednesday
Pages went 3-for-3 with a double in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Guardians.
Pages did his part from the No. 8 spot in the lineup, but he accounted for more than half of the Dodgers' five hits. Many of the team's regulars have gotten off to slow starts so far, but Pages is already locked in at the plate, batting .429 (9-for-21) with a home run, five RBI, one run scored and no stolen bases over six contests. He should continue to see the vast majority of the playing time in center field, especially if he keeps his strikeouts down -- he's struck out just twice in 21 plate appearances so far.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Launches first homer
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Guardians.
Freeman has had a slow start to the season, going 5-for-24 (.208) over his first six games. He's logged an extra-base hit in two of his last four contests, including his ninth-inning homer Wednesday to keep the Dodgers from getting shut out. The first baseman has added three RBI. The slow start among the Dodgers' top hitters is a little concerning, but the defending champions should be fine in the long run, and Freeman's move down to the cleanup spot versus right-handed pitchers should benefit his run production this year.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto SP | LAD
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Loses pitching duel
Yamamoto (1-1) allowed two runs on four hits, a walk and a hit-by-pitch while striking out two over six innings to take the loss versus the Guardians on Wednesday.
Yamamoto was outdueled by Gavin Williams, who struck out 10 over seven scoreless innings. Yamamoto's missteps came in the third inning, as Daniel Schneemann doubled, stole third and scored on an errant throw before Gabriel Arias went yard for a solo home run. This was still a second straight quality start for Yamamoto, who has allowed four runs on nine hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over 12 innings in his first two outings of the season. The star right-hander allowed just 14 home runs over 173.2 regular-season innings across 30 starts last season, so he should be able to get that under control after giving up a long ball in each of his starts in 2026. The Dodgers are using a six-man rotation for the week ahead, but with extra rest built in for Shohei Ohtani, Yamamoto is tentatively projected to make his next start in Toronto.

Adolis Garcia RF | PHI
Phillies' Adolis Garcia: Productive start with new team
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a walk in Wednesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over Washington.
Garcia appears to have lost out on the cleanup job to Alec Bohm to begin his Phillies career, but he's still occupying a spot in the heart of the lineup. He's hit sixth in four games and fifth in two contests so far, and Garcia is doing his part to remain worthy of moving up the batting order. The right fielder is batting .318 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and one walk over his first 22 at-bats.

Corbin Carroll LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Hot start continues
Carroll went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk in a 1-0 win against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Carroll's homer was particularly impressive, coming off Tigers ace Tarik Skubal to bring home the game's only run in the opening frame. Over his first 25 plate appearances, the All-Star outfielder is slashing .333/.400/.762 with two long balls, one double, one triple and eight RBI. Carroll has hit safely in five of his six contests as well.
-
Juan Soto LF | NYM
Mets' Juan Soto: Smacks first homer
Soto went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-innings loss to the Cardinals.
Soto opened the scoring with two outs in the sixth inning Wednesday, tucking a 2-0 pitch off the base of the right-field foul pole for his first home run of the season. Soto is off to a strong start at the plate, going 9-for-26 with a .952 OPS and five RBI through six games after slashing .263/.396/.525 with a career-high 43 home runs, 105 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 2025.

Eric Haase C | SF
Giants' Eric Haase: Returns to Giants
Haase signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Wednesday.
Haase parted ways with the Giants after posting a .911 OPS over 18 games in the Cactus League, but he'll now return to the organization and provide depth at Triple-A Sacramento. He'd likely be called up to work as a backup in San Francisco if Patrick Bailey or Daniel Susac had to miss time.

Gavin Stone SP | LAD
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Moved to 60-day IL
The Dodgers transferred Stone (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Stone opened the regular season on the 15-day IL after suffering a setback with his surgically repaired right shoulder during spring training. The Dodgers are taking a slow approach to the right-hander's rehab, with manager Dave Roberts relaying to reporters Wednesday that Stone is "starting over a spring ramp-up," and the move to the 60-day IL means he won't be available to make his 2026 debut until at least late May, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers claimed Grant Holman off waivers from the Diamondbacks.
