Montas (lat) threw his third bullpen session Tuesday since resuming his throwing program in mid-April, MLB.com reports.

After being diagnosed with a high-grade right lat strain in mid-February, Montas was shut down for nearly two months before receiving clearance to start throwing. He steadily increased his throwing distance off flat ground before recently being cleared for mound work, and he's thus far avoided any setbacks through his three bullpen sessions. Montas could soon advance to facing hitters in live batting practice, but he may be a week or more away from starting up a minor-league rehab assignment. The right-hander isn't expected to be ready to return from the 60-day injured list until around early June.

Moreno has been scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Mets.

Moreno is stepping out of the starting nine due to a manager's decision, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, so it doesn't seem like the 25-year-old backstop is battling any sort of injury. Jose Herrera will now start behind home plate and bat ninth. Moreno has gone 8-for-30 with six runs scored and three RBI over his last nine games.

Marte was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against Atlanta due to left side pain, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.

With Marte removed from Tuesday's lineup, Santiago Espinal will move to third base, Spencer Steer will shift to left field and Austin Wynns will start at first base. Marte has gone 11-for-39 with two stolen bases, one home run and nine RBI over his last 10 games.

Ruiz isn't in the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

After going 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored during a win in Game 1, Ruiz will take a seat on the bench to conclude Tuesday's activities. Riley Adams will catch instead for Brad Lord and bat eighth.

Bell (groin) will serve as Washington's designated hitter and bat fourth in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians.

Bell has been out since Saturday due to a groin injury and sat out the first game of Tuesday's twin bill, but he'll return to the starting nine for the nightcap. The 32-year-old has struggled to break out of his slump to start the season, going just 3-for-19 with a homer over his last five games.

Burnes (shoulder) remains on track to make his next start Saturday against the Dodgers in Arizona, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Burnes was initially slated to make his seventh start of the season Monday, but the Diamondbacks ended up skipping his turn after he was diagnosed with right shoulder inflammation following an MRI late last week. Following the MRI, Burnes received a cortisone shot to address the shoulder issue, and the injection appears to have had the desired effect. He's scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and if all goes well, the Diamondbacks will lock him in for a start this weekend.

Acuna isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Acuna will grab a seat on the bench for the second game in a row after going 3-for-8 during Sunday's doubleheader against St. Louis. Jeff McNeil will get the nod at second base and bat seventh.

Iglesias is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Yankees on Tuesday.

Iglesias is out of the Padres' lineup for a second straight game, with Tyler Wade starting at second base and batting ninth. Iglesias went 3-for-26 over his last eight games, which clouded his nice start to the season when he had a .298 average and .723 OPS in the first 18 games.

The Padres optioned Campusano to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Just three days after being recalled from Triple-A, Campusano will return to the minors to make room for the return of Jackson Merrill (hamstring) from the injured list. Campusano went 0-for-6 during his brief stint with the Padres, though he managed to reach base four times via walks. He'd likely return to the majors if Elias Diaz or Martin Maldonado were to miss any amount of time.

The Padres reinstated Merrill (hamstring) from the injured list Tuesday.

After spending nearly a month on the injured list due to a strained right hamstring, Merrill will rejoin the active roster and reclaim his role as San Diego's everyday center fielder. The 22-year-old went 2-for-6 with a walk and two runs scored during his two-game rehab assignment at Double-A San Antonio, and he'd been slashing .378/.415/.676 in the majors before getting injured. Luis Campusano was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.
