Reds' Rece Hinds: Summoned from Triple-A

The Reds recalled Hinds from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.

Hinds has slashed .281/.343/.554 with eight home runs and 12 steals this season with Louisville but has also struck out at a 29.7 percent clip. The right-handed-hitting Hinds could see regular starts in the outfield when the Reds oppose lefties.

  • Noelvi Marte RF | CIN

Reds' Noelvi Marte: Lands on IL with oblique strain

The Reds placed Marte on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left oblique strain.

Marte was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup and a day later has landed on the IL. He will be eligible for activation May 15, but oblique strains often result in longer-than-minimum stays on the IL. Santiago Espinal will likely receive the bulk of the playing time at third base for the Reds while Marte is sidelined.

  • Connor Norby 2B | COL

Marlins' Connor Norby: Absent from Wednesday's lineup

Norby is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Dodgers.

It appears to be a routine day off for Norby, who had started each of the previous seven games for the Marlins. Graham Pauley will get a start at third base and bat eighth for Miami.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

Dodgers' Will Smith: Resting for day game

Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Austin Barnes will get the nod behind the plate while Smith rests for the day game after a night game. Smith caught all nine innings of Tuesday's 5-4 loss while going 2-for-5 with a double.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | ARI

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Nursing back spasms

Arenado was scratched from Wednesday's lineup versus the Pirates due to back spasms, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Arenado was scratched just minutes before first pitch and replaced at third base by Nolan Gorman. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being, and Arenado will receive an additional day of rest with the Cardinals having a scheduled off day Thursday.

  • Cade Gibson RP | MIA

Marlins' Cade Gibson: Joins big-league bullpen

The Marlins recalled Gibson from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Gibson tossed 2.1 scoreless relief innings in his major-league debut last month. He will give manager Clayton McCullough another left-handed option in the bullpen.

  • George Soriano RP | STL

Marlins' George Soriano: Optioned to minors

The Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Soriano has been knocked around in his 11 appearances out of the Marlins' bullpen, yielding 18 runs (17 earned) across 18.1 innings. Cade Gibson will absorb his roster spot.

  • Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Feyereisen was with the club for one day and permitted the winning run in the 10th inning of Tuesday's extra-innings loss to the Marlins. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Landon Knack, who was called up from Triple-A to serve as the Dodgers' primary pitcher Wednesday in Miami.

  • Landon Knack RP | LAD

Dodgers' Landon Knack: Recalled before Wednesday's outing

The Dodgers recalled Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Knack will be the Dodgers' primary pitcher Wednesday in Miami, though the team hasn't disclosed whether he'll be used as a traditional starter or bulk reliever. The right-hander has yielded seven runs with a 7:6 K:BB over 8.2 innings covering two starts and one relief appearance with the big club in 2025.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Enters lineup as replacement

Gorman entered Wednesday's lineup versus the Pirates after Nolan Arenado was scratched, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Gorman had been set to sit out his third game over the last four contests, but Arenado's undisclosed injury gives him a reprieve. The 24-year-old Gorman is just 2-for-27 at the dish over his last 10 games.
