  • Will Benson RF | CIN

Reds' Will Benson: In lineup again

Benson started in right field and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Astros.

Benson made a second consecutive start in right field since being called up at the end of last week. The lefty-hitting outfielder is filling in for the injured Jake Fraley (calf) but may be limited to starting against right-handers. Benson is 1-for-7 with a double and an RBI during his second stint this season in the majors.

  • Austin Hays LF | SD

Reds' Austin Hays: Serves as DH again

Hays went 0-for-4 in Sunday's 6-0 loss to Houston.

Hays, who was given a rest day Saturday, returned to the lineup as the designated hitter. It was his second start since being activated off the injured list Friday, with both starts coming at DH. He's bounced between left field and DH, but with two leg injuries already this season, manager Terry Francona may manage him carefully and not expose him too much in the field. Hays has gotten off to a nice start, batting .328 with five home runs and 13 RBI through 16 games.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Reds' Wade Miley: Resumes rehab assignment

Miley (elbow) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out six over 2.2 innings in a rehab start at High-A Dayton on Saturday.

Miley resumed his rehab assignment after experiencing groin discomfort during an outing at the same affiliate April 27. The more substantive injury, however, is the Tommy John left elbow surgery. Miley's thrown just 5.2 innings while on rehab and is expected to make a few more appearances before he's ready to be activated.

  • Ian Gibaut RP | CIN

Reds' Ian Gibaut: Makes first rehab outing

Gibault (shoulder) struck out two over one inning for Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.

Gibault landed on the 15-day injured list April 26 with a right shoulder impingement. The right-hander is expected to make multiple rehab appearances before the Reds activate him.

  • Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Could be activated this week

Graveman (back) rejoined the Diamondbacks on Sunday and could be activated from the 15-day injured list during the upcoming week, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Graveman completed a three-appearance minor-league rehab assignment Friday, and all signs point to him being activated at some point during the series against the Giants that kicks off Monday. Though the back end of the Arizona bullpen is unsettled, Graveman is unlikely to immediately factor into the closer mix and will likely work in a setup role or in middle relief.

  • Diamondbacks' Justin Martinez: Bullpen session goes well

Martinez (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Martinez took the mound for the first time since he was placed on the injured list May 1 due to right shoulder inflammation, or a case of "dead arm," as manager Torey Lovullo had described it. The report indicates that Martinez's side session went "real well," and that the reliever felt good. Martinez is first eligible for activation Friday, but it's unclear if he'll be cleared to return for this weekend's series versus the Rockies, or if he'll head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being reinstated.

  • Tim Tawa 1B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: MLB window may close

Tawa could be a candidate to return to the minors with the Diamondbacks expected to promote top prospect Jordan Lawlar from Triple-A Reno on Monday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Lawlar has seen action at second base, shortstop and third base at Reno this season, but the Diamondbacks already have reliable incumbents on hand at those respective positions in Ketel Marte, Geraldo Perdomo and Eugenio Suarez. Piecoro's report suggests that the Diamondbacks envision Lawler filling a utility role and playing three to four times per week, which would render Tawa a redundant piece on the roster. Tawa remained with the big club after Marte was reinstated from the injured list May 2 but has appeared in six of the Diamondbacks' ensuing 10 games while going 3-for-14 with one walk, two steals, one RBI and one run.

  • Jordan Lawlar CF | ARI

    Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Promotion imminent

The Diamondbacks are expected to recall Lawlar from Triple-A Reno ahead of Monday's series opener in San Francisco, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Lawlar is hitting .336/.418/.579 at Reno while splitting time between second base, shortstop and third base. The Diamondbacks have solid incumbents at all three positions, including two (Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo) that recently signed contract extensions. Piecoro speculates that Lawlar -- the Diamondbacks' top prospect -- will likely play around four times per week, allowing manager Torey Lovullo to give multiple other regulars on the team periodic days off.

  • Nick Pivetta RP | SD

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Roughed up for six runs

Pivetta (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Rockies, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings.

Pivetta surrendered a home run for a third consecutive start when he gave up a first-inning, three-run blast to Hunter Goodman. The struggles continued at Coors Field in the third, with Goodman supplying a two-run triple and then eventually coming in to score. Pivetta went fewer than five innings for just the second time this year. He had given up just six earned runs in his last five starts combined, including a seven-inning scoreless outing against the Rockies on April 11. Pivetta's ERA raised over a full point to 3.05, and he'll look to rebound in a home start versus the Mariners over the weekend.

  • Bryson Stott 2B | PHI

Phillies' Bryson Stott: Records eighth steal

Stott went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Guardians.

Stott went 0-for-8 with a walk and two strikeouts to begin this weekend's interleague series, but he was able to knock a hit in the series finale. The second baseman is now batting .262 with a .721 OPS, three home runs, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored, eight steals, five doubles and two triples over 37 contests. He continues to serve as the Phillies' preferred leadoff hitter versus right-handed pitchers.
