Wood went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Giants.

The 22-year-old took Kyle Harrison deep in the first inning, and it turned out to be all the offense the Nats would need. Wood has a .952 OPS in May and continues to march toward a breakout campaign, slashing .284/.380/.543 through 52 games this year with 13 homers, seven steals, 33 runs and 35 RBI.

Lopez struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his first save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Giants.

With Kyle Finnegan battling shoulder fatigue, Lopez stepped up in the ninth for the Nationals and fired eight of nine pitches for strikes to get the job done. The 32-year-old right-hander has had some rough stretches this season, but Lopez has reeled off five straight scoreless appearances while collecting a win and two holds, plus Saturday's save. It's not clear how long Finnegan might be unavailable, but the Nats haven't yet placed him on the injured list. If the team's regular closer does end up needing a lengthier absence, Jackson Rutledge -- who had pitched Thursday and Friday -- might join the ninth-inning mix given Lopez's 6.00 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB through 24 innings on the year.

Irvin (4-1) picked up the win Saturday, scattering three hits and two walks over eight scoreless innings in a 3-0 victory over the Giants. He struck out seven.

San Francisco got only one runner into scoring position all day against the right-hander, and Irvin promptly squashed the potential rally in the fourth inning by coaxing a double-play grounder out of Matt Chapman and striking out Willy Adames. Irvin tossed 64 of 96 pitches for strikes in his longest outing of the season, and the quality start was his third straight and his sixth of the year. He'll take a 3.42 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB through 68.1 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Arizona.

Keller did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks over six innings against the Brewers. He struck out seven.

He gave up his fair share of base hits, but Caleb Durbin's second-inning single was the only one that plated a run Saturday. Keller has been particularly sharp of late, posting a 1.89 ERA and a 20:2 K:BB across his past three starts. Aside from a rough outing against the Yankees on April 4, when he allowed seven runs over 3.2 innings, the 29-year-old has been a steady presence on the mound for the Pirates this season. After Saturday's start, Keller now sports a 3.66 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

Harrison (0-1) took the loss Saturday as the Giants fell 3-0 to the Nationals, giving up two runs on five hits over four innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

The 23-year-old southpaw pitched well in his first big-league start of the season, tossing 43 of 57 pitches for strikes, but Harrison served up a two-run homer to James Wood in the first inning and the Giants' offense never woke up. With Justin Verlander (pectoral) on the shelf, Harrison will get at least one more turn through the rotation, and he should get stretched out enough to potentially qualify for a win next weekend in Miami. Through 9.1 MLB innings in 2025, Harrison has a 3.86 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB.

Helsley (2-0) was credited with the win in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Diamondbacks, giving up a hit and a walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

The official scorer elected to give Helsley the win and not the save, despite the fact that he entered the game with the Cardinals ahead by a run, after both Kyle Leahy and Steven Matz were ineffective in the eighth trying to protect a 4-1 lead. Helsley hasn't been as sharp in 2025 as he was last season, and he sports a 3.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 19:11 K:BB through 18 innings while converting 10 of 12 save chances.

Finnegan was unavailable for Saturday's game against the Giants due to shoulder fatigue, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Finnegan hasn't pitched since blowing a save against Atlanta on Thursday. He reported soreness in his shoulder following his last outing, but manager Dave Martinez said that imaging on his shoulder came back negative, and the 33-year-old righty is considered day-to-day for now.

Stott is starting at second base and batting seventh against the Athletics on Saturday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Stott will face off against a southpaw for the first time since April 8, with Jeffrey Springs taking the mound for the Athletics on Saturday. Stott has slashed .203/.236/.304 with three steals, two home runs and nine RBI since the beginning of May.

Liberatore came away with a no-decision Saturday, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings in a 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks. He struck out four without walking a batter.

The 25-year-old southpaw served up a solo shot to Randal Grichuk in the fifth inning but was otherwise very efficient as he fired 61 of his 88 pitches for strikes. The quality start was Liberatore's seventh in 10 outings this season, and he's given up two runs or fewer in eight straight trips to the mound, posting a 1.91 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 40:8 K:BB through 47 innings over that span. Liberatore will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend against the Rangers.

Priester did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over six innings in a 2-1 loss against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

Priester gave up a run on two hits in the first inning but settled in and worked around traffic to throw five scoreless frames afterward. A blister on his right middle finger factored into the decision to lift him after just 84 pitches, manager Pat Murphy said postgame. Since getting roughed up for seven runs May 2 against the Cubs, the 24-year-old has posted a 2.53 ERA across 21.1 innings over his last four outings. The right-hander has been used as both a starter and a long reliever this season, pitching to a 4.23 ERA and 1.43 WHIP through nine appearances and seven starts.
