Kiner-Falefa went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Reds.

Kiner-Falefa has started seven of Pittsburgh's last eight games at third base, with Jared Triolo serving as the primary shortstop. While he provides very little power, Kiner-Falefa has performed well across his last 10 starts by collecting 13 hits across 39 at-bats with eight RBI, nine runs scored and two stolen bases. While Liover Peguero has slowly begun to work his way into more playing time, Triolo looks more likely to be at risk of losing starts relative to Kiner-Falefa.

Gray (11-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings to earn the win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Gray has opened August with a pair of strong starts, allowing just three runs (two earned) over 14 innings while racking up 15 strikeouts. Matt Shaw's two-run home run in the fifth inning was the only damage on Gray's line in this contest. Gray is now at a 4.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 148:22 K:BB through 135.1 innings over 24 starts this season. The veteran right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Yankees.

De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with a walk, one RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 14-8 win over the Pirates.

De La Cruz opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning before stealing his 31st base of the season in the seventh. It was the superstar's first two-hit game of August, as he broke out of a 5-for-32 slump through the month's first eight contests. For the year, he's slashing .277/.353/.467 with 19 home runs, 74 RBI, 82 runs scored and the aforementioned 31 steals across 513 plate appearances.

Harris went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Marlins.

Harris doubled in the fourth inning before homering for the second straight day in the seventh. Over 10 August games, the 24-year-old has recorded five multi-hit efforts, seven extra-base hits, five RBI, six runs scored and a stolen base. For the season, he's slashing .241/.264/.394 with 12 home runs, 55 RBI, 36 runs scored and 13 steals across 463 plate appearances.

Cease (5-10) picked up the win Sunday against Boston, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out seven.

Cease notched his first quality start in his last eight appearances, shutting down the Red Sox en route to a victory. The 29-year-old has now taken the win in back-to-back starts for the first time in 2025. In 24 outings this season, Cease has a 4.52 ERA and a 169:50 K:BB over 129.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Dodgers next time out.

Tatis went 2-for-3 with an RBI single and two runs scored during Sunday's 6-2 win over the Red Sox.

Tatis recorded a second straight multi-hit game, and he reached in three of his four plate appearances Sunday. The 26-year-old came into the contest 4-for-31 (.129) with four runs scored and two stolen bases in August. He's slashing .262/.365/.431 on the year.

Gore (5-12) picked up the win Sunday against San Francisco, allowing three hits and one walk with 10 strikeouts over six scoreless innings.

Gore had lost his last four starts leading up to Sunday's outing, but he rediscovered the elite form he had earlier in the campaign. He fanned double-digit hitters for the first time in 19 starts and delivered his first quality start in five outings. The 26-year-old yielded 23 runs in 15.2 innings with a 10:11 K:BB during his previous four appearances. In 132 innings this season, Gore has a 4.09 ERA and a 158:47 K:BB. He's penciled in to make his next start against the Phillies over the weekend.

Verlander (1-9) took the loss Sunday against Washington, allowing five runs on 11 hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out six.

Verlander had been excellent in his previous three appearances, yielding one run across 15 innings. He surrendered more hits Sunday than he did during that three-start stretch and set a season-worst mark in the column. Through 20 starts in 2025, Verlander has a 4.53 ERA and an 87:36 K:BB over 99.1 innings. The 42-year-old will be back on the bump next weekend against Tampa Bay.

Abrams went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 8-0 win over San Francisco.

Abrams lifted his 15th homer of the campaign, swatting a two-run shot off Justin Verlander in the second frame. The outing snapped a minor drought at the plate, as Abrams entered the contest with just three hits in his last 30 at-bats. The shortstop is slashing .268/.333/.457 in 458 plate appearances this season.

Wood went 2-for-4 with a pair of two-RBI doubles and a run scored during Sunday's 8-0 win over the Giants.

Wood finished the three-game set against San Francisco 5-for-13 with four doubles and a home run after notching his third game of 2025 with multiple doubles Sunday. When the outfielder wasn't roping extra-base hits, though, he was often striking out. Wood had seven Ks during the series. On the year, Wood has 25 home runs, 14 stolen bases and an .844 OPS.
