  • Tanner Gordon RP | COL

Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Decent in third win

Gordon (3-5) notched the win Friday against Arizona, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out two.

Gordon entered the day having been dismantled for 23 earned runs over his prior three starts, so Friday's display was a step in the right direction. The right-hander attacked the zone for 54 strikes among his 78 pitches, although he's still reached the 90-pitch marker just once out of eight outings on the year. Gordon has a hideous 7.98 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB over 38.1 frames, and he should likely be avoided at home next week against the division-rival Dodgers in most situations from a fantasy perspective.

  • Braves' Hurston Waldrep: Fans seven in third win

Waldrep (3-0) earned the win over the Guardians on Friday, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out seven over six scoreless innings.

The 23-year-old generated 14 swinging strikes on 95 pitches and set a career high with seven strikeouts, blanking Cleveland for his first career scoreless outing. Since being recalled, the young starter has been impressive, winning each of his first three outings while yielding only two total runs across 17.2 innings. His ability to command the zone and miss bats has quickly made him a valuable boost to Atlanta's injury-prone rotation, and he'll take a 1.02 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB into his next scheduled start against the White Sox.

  • Trevor Megill RP | MIL

Brewers' Trevor Megill: Secures 29th save

Megill earned the save in Friday's 10-8 win over the Reds, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Megill was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the ninth and did so on just 11 pitches. In 13 appearances across July and August, the 31-year-old has gone 11-for-11 in save chances while allowing only one earned run over 12.1 innings. For the season, he owns a 2.14 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 51:15 K:BB across 42 frames while converting 29 of 32 opportunities.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Powers offense in win

Yelich went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, five RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 10-8 win over the Reds.

Yelich fueled a huge Brewers comeback, driving in runs in four separate plate appearances and hitting what proved to be the game-winning homer in the sixth inning. The 33-year-old has been red hot in August, hitting safely in 10 of 12 contests with seven multi-hit efforts, seven extra-base hits, 17 RBI and 16 runs scored. On the season, he's slashing .272/.349/.476 with 25 home runs, 86 RBI, 71 runs scored and 15 steals across 490 plate appearances.

  • Reds' Nick Martinez: Hit hard in no-decision

Martinez did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-8 loss to the Brewers, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits and no walks with one strikeout over 2.2 innings.

Martinez was spotted an early 8-1 lead before giving up five runs in the third inning. He generated just two whiffs on 61 pitches and allowed four extra-base hits, including two homers. It ended a streak of six straight outings with two earned runs or fewer for the 35-year-old, who now owns a 4.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 98:33 K:BB across 139 innings (24 starts) this season. With Chase Burns (elbow) hitting the injured list Friday, Martinez should remain in the rotation, lining up for a road matchup with the Angels next week.

  • Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Records just four outs in return

Misiorowski did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-8 win over the Reds, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 1.1 innings.

Misiorowski clearly lacked command, throwing just 28 of 54 pitches for strikes and leaving the game with the bases loaded and one out in the second inning. The rookie All-Star's velocity was right in line with his season averages after missing two starts with a tibia contusion, suggesting rust more than anything else as the reason for his struggles Friday. He owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 50:17 K:BB across 34.2 innings and will look to rebound in a road matchup with the Cubs next week.

  • Bryce Harper 1B | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Homers in win

Harper went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Friday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.

Harper opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first inning before going back-to-back with Kyle Schwarber in the seventh. While the first baseman is batting just .218 through 14 August contests, he's piled up 25 extra-base hits over 37 games since returning from the injured list June 30. For the year, he's slashing .258/.356/.497 with 19 homers, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored and 10 steals across 413 plate appearances.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Swipes two bags in win

Turner went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases in Friday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.

Turner singled twice off MacKenzie Gore and swiped second both times. He's now hit safely in eight of his past 10 games, collecting five extra-base hits, seven RBI, five runs scored and three stolen bases in that span. For the year, the shortstop leads the National League with 142 hits while slashing .286/.341/.427 with 12 homers, 52 RBI, 78 runs scored and 28 steals across 542 plate appearances.

  • Jhoan Duran RP | PHI

    Phillies' Jhoan Duran: X-rays negative

X-rays on Duran's right ankle came back negative after he left Friday's game against Washington on a cart, Charlotte Varnes of The Athletic reports.

Duran was hit on the ankle by a comebacker in the ninth inning and had to leave the game on a cart. The Phillies will evaluate him further Saturday, but for the moment, it seems like the 27-year-old managed to escape the incident without suffering any structural damage. If he ends up needing to miss any time, Matt Strahm and Orion Kerkering would be the primary candidates to close games for the Phillies going forward.

  • Kyle Schwarber DH | PHI

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Surpasses 100 RBI in win

Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.

Schwarber broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run blast in the seventh inning, reaching 100 RBI for the third straight season. Though he's just 6-for-37 over his past 10 games, five of those knocks have gone for extra bases. The lefty slugger now leads the majors with 101 RBI while slashing .250/.373/.582 with 43 homers, 83 runs scored and 10 steals across 541 plate appearances, keeping him firmly in the National League MVP mix.
