    Torres extended his hitting streak to four games, with the last three contests being multi-hit efforts. The Detroit infielder is now slashing .261/.366/.398 across 140 games this year, and he's been a key offensive performer in his first season with his new team. Torres should continue to slot in as the No. 2 hitter for the Tigers as they look to wrap up a playoff spot.

    Blue Jays' Jeff Hoffman: Collects 32nd save

    Hoffman earned the save in Sunday's 8-5 win over the Royals, allowing one hit and zero walks in a scoreless ninth inning. He did not record a strikeout.

    Hoffman got the call to protect the Blue Jays' three-run lead in the ninth. He yielded a double to Mike Yastrzemski, but Hoffman closed things out by getting Bobby Witt and Vinnie Pasquantino to both ground out, and the win clinched the Blue Jays a spot in the postseason. Hoffman has had his struggles this season but has not given up a run in each of his last four outings. He has a 3.71 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 26.2 innings while converting on 10 of 13 save opportunities since the All-Star break.

    Woods Richardson did not factor in the decision during Sunday's win over Cleveland. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over five innings while striking out three.

    Woods Richardson gave up a run in each of the first two innings, including Steven Kwan's solo shot in the first. The Guardians did not record a hit against Woods Richardson after the second inning. After a stretch of four straight starts without finishing the fifth frame, he has now thrown at least five innings in four straight outings. During that span, he's produced a 3.00 ERA over 21 innings. Woods Richardson now owns a 4.27 ERA with a 98:46 K:BB across 105.1 innings this season. He's projected to make his final start of the 2025 season in Philadelphia next weekend.

    Yankees' Cam Schlittler: Solid in no-decision

    Schlittler did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Orioles, allowing a run on three hits and a walk across 5.1 innings. He struck out six.

    Schlittler was impressive Sunday, with Baltimore's lone run coming on a Samuel Basallo homer in the fifth inning. The 24-year-old Schlittler has been inconsistent of late, though he's posted a 2.72 ERA across 36.1 innings in his last seven outings. The right-hander is tentatively lined up for a rematch with the Orioles his next time out.

    Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Sharp again Sunday

    Bradish allowed a run on two hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Yankees. He struck out nine.

    Bradish was excellent Sunday, holding New York scoreless through five innings before eventually allowing a lone run with two outs in the sixth. Bradish has yet to allow more than two runs in four starts since his return from Tommy John surgery while holding opponents to a single run in each of his last three outings. Bradish will carry a 2.25 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP and 39 strikeouts in his next start, tentatively scheduled as a rematch with the Yankees next week.

    Yankees' Ben Rice: Powers Yankees in win

    Rice went 4-for-5 with a grand slam, a double and five total RBI in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Orioles in 10 innings.

    Rice got the Yankees on the board in the sixth inning with a two-out RBI single, tying the game at 1-1, before delivering the decisive blast in the 10th inning, a 413-foot grand slam off lefty Keegan Akin to put New York ahead 5-1. Rice had just one home run in his last 20 games prior to Sunday, though he's gone 14-for-33 (.424) over his last 10 contests. Overall, Rice is slashing .252/.335/.488 with 24 homers, 62 RBI and 69 runs scored across 510 plate appearances this season.

    Tigers' Casey Mize: Falls to Atlanta

    Mize (14-6) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

    It's just the second loss in 10 starts for Mize. The right-hander held Atlanta scoreless through two innings Sunday before he gave up a run in three consecutive frames to finish the day. Overall, Mize sports a 3.91 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 131:36 K:BB across 27 starts (142.2 innings) this season. He's tentatively lined up to face the Red Sox on the road his next time out.

    Astros' Jeremy Pena: Scratched from lineup

    Pena was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Mariners due to left oblique soreness, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

    Pena was originally set to bat leadoff and play shortstop in Sunday's series finale, but he'll now head to the bench. Mauricio Dubon will replace him against Seattle, and more information on Pena's status will likely come in the near future.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Drives in two runs in win

    Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and a run scored during the Blue Jays' 8-5 win over the Royals on Sunday.

    Guerrero entered Sunday's game having gone just 4-for-27 (.148) over his past seven outings. He was better at the plate in Sunday's series finale and gave the Blue Jays a three-run lead in the fifth with a two-run double before coming home to score on an Addison Barger RBI double. Since the All-Star break, Guerrero has a .953 OPS with one steal, 11 home runs and 37 RBI over 242 plate appearances.

    Blue Jays' Trey Yesavage: Yields four runs in no-decision

    Yesavage did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Royals, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two across four innings.

    Yesavage earned another start after dazzling in his debut against the Rays on Monday, when he struck out nine batters across five innings. He retired nine of the first 10 batters he faced Sunday before giving up two runs in the fourth inning, and he was tagged for two more in the fifth after being lifted without recording an out. Yesavage has given up five earned runs while striking out 11 batters through the first nine innings of his major-league career as he looks to make his case for a spot in the Blue Jays' rotation in the postseason. His last chance to audition will be next weekend against the Rays in Toronto.
