Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Back with Jays
The Blue Jays recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
With Jose Berrios on the shelf with elbow inflammation, the Jays will turn to Schultz to give the club another multi-inning relief option for the final few regular-season contests. The 27-year-old righty owns a 4.38 ERA and 1.42 WHIP across 24.2 innings with Toronto this season.

Rays' Everson Pereira: Back injury ends season
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Pereira (back) is unlikely to return this season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Pereira was forced to exit Thursday's game in Baltimore in the fourth inning with low-back tightness. While it does not seem to be a long-term injury, it will nonetheless prematurely end the outfielder's season. Pereira slashed .138/.219/.246 with two home runs in 23 games for the Rays in 2025.

The Blue Jays placed Berrios on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right elbow inflammation, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Berrios is slated to receive an MRI to determine the severity of his injury, but his move to the IL will keep him out for the rest of the regular season. Paxton Schultz was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Day-to-day with groin injury
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Diaz (groin) is day-to-day, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Diaz had to be lifted from Thursday's game in Baltimore in the fifth inning with right groin tightness. While the injury is considered minor, it's possible Diaz is held out of action this weekend in Toronto as a precaution.

Cade Povich SP | BAL
Orioles' Cade Povich: Shaky in no-decision
Povich allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks over 5.2 innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Rays. He struck out four.
It was another disappointing outing for Povich, who's failed to make it out of the sixth inning in any of his last seven starts -- he's gone 1-2 with a 5.75 ERA in that span (36 innings). The 25-year-old Povich will likely finish the campaign at 3-8 with a 5.21 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 118 strikeouts across 112.1 innings.

Drew Rasmussen SP | TB
Rays' Drew Rasmussen: Goes 2.1 innings vs. O's
Rasmussen didn't factor into the decision Thursday against Baltimore, allowing two hits and two walks across 2.1 scoreless innings. He stuck out three.
Making his final start of the season, Rasmussen was pulled after recording one out in the third inning, putting him exactly at his 150-inning limit for the season. While Rasmussen failed to make it past five innings in any of his final five outings, the right-hander had a strong campaign overall, posting a 2.76 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP and 127 strikeouts across 31 starts.
