Tyler Holton RP | DET
Tigers' Tyler Holton: Takes loss as opener Friday
Holton (7-2) allowed two runs on two hits over an inning of work to take the loss Friday against the Orioles. He struck out one.
Holton served as the opener and quickly ran into some trouble, as he allowed a leadoff double to Gunnar Henderson. The lefty retired the next two batters but then gave up a two-run home run to slugger Anthony Santander. Holton has been mostly excellent lately, as this was the first time he allowed an earned run in his last 10 appearances and he owns a 2.30 ERA overall, so he should bounce back from this subpar effort.

Corbin Burnes SP | ARI
Orioles' Corbin Burnes: Fires seven shutout frames
Burnes (15-8) yielded three hits and three walks over seven scoreless innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over Detroit.
Burnes allowed only two runners to reach scoring position in his dominant outing. He fired 60 of 91 pitches for strikes, but he generated only 11 whiffs. Burnes has been a nightmare for the Tigers recently; in back-to-back starts against them, he's tossed 14 scoreless frames with 15 punchouts while earning a win in both. He's delivered a 1.08 ERA over 25 innings this month, dropping his season ERA to 2.95 across 31 starts. Burnes' final start of the regular season is expected to be a road matchup against the Yankees.

James McCann C | ARI
Orioles' James McCann: Goes deep twice
McCann went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's win against the Tigers.
McCann knocked a two-run shot in the fourth inning and then capped off Baltimore's seven-run night with a solo shot in the sixth. He's hit four home runs over his last 11 appearances dating back to Aug. 20. The veteran catcher owns a .645 OPS with 16 extra-base hits through 221 plate appearances this season.

Colton Cowser CF | BAL
Orioles' Colton Cowser: Belts two homers
Cowser went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's win over Detroit.
Cowser went deep in the second and sixth innings against the Tigers for his second career multi-homer game. He also snapped an 18-game homerless drought dating back to August. During that span, he hit .224 with just two RBI. Cowser is now slashing .246/.326/.448 with 22 home runs, 48 extra-base hits and 64 RBI through 146 games.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Returns with clean frame
Jansen (shoulder) threw a perfect ninth inning in Friday's extra-innings loss to the Twins. He did not record a strikeout.
Jansen was said to be dealing with a shoulder issue earlier in the week, but he was available in his normal spot Friday and ended up retiring the side on 11 pitches (nine strikes). While the veteran's command and velocity have both been affected by the shoulder recently, there has been nothing to suggest the team will need to shut him down early, though that's not completely out of the question with Boston's playoff chances dwindling. Jansen is a free agent this winter.

Maikel Garcia 3B | KC
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Registers 37th steal
Garcia went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Giants.
Garcia was held without a hit for the third game in a row, but he was able to make a little noise after drawing a ninth-inning walk. The infielder has four steals over his last six games and 37 thefts on 39 attempts this season. He's added a middling .237/.284/.342 slash line with seven home runs, 58 RBI and 84 runs scored over 149 games.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Tallies three more hits
Witt went 3-for-4 in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Giants.
Witt's bat has slowed down a bit in September -- he's gone 18-for-65 (.277) over 17 contests. This was just his fourth multi-hit effort of the month, though he was the only one who get much going versus the Giants' pitching staff. Despite the slowdown at the plate, Witt is still slashing a fantastic .334/.389/.599 with 32 home runs, 30 stolen bases, 108 RBI, 124 runs scored, 44 doubles and 11 triples across 154 contests.

Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Forces extra inning with homer
Sosa went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
Sosa took Padres closer Robert Suarez deep with two outs in the ninth inning. It was a brief respite for the White Sox, who got walked off on a Fernando Tatis double in the 10th. Sosa's had a hot bat in September, going 21-for-57 (.368) with two homers, six RBI and seven runs scored over 15 games this month. The surge has lifted the infielder's slash line to .243/.269/.332 with six homers, 28 RBI, 21 runs scored, 11 doubles and three stolen bases through 92 contests.

Garrett Crochet RP | BOS
White Sox's Garrett Crochet: Dazzles in four-inning start
Crochet allowed one hit and struck out eight without walking a batter over four scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.
Crochet's workload limit continues to shrink -- he threw 38 of 52 pitches for strikes in this impressive but short outing. He's reached four innings in seven of his 12 outings since he was placed on a pitch count, but he hasn't gone farther over that span. Overall, Crochet has a 3.68 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 203:32 K:BB through 142 innings over 31 starts. His last outing is projected to be a home start versus the Angels next week, though he shouldn't be expected to throw more than 50 pitches or last long enough to qualify for a win.

Lawrence Butler RF | ATH
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Notches 16th steal
Butler went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 4-2 extra-inning loss to the Yankees.
Butler has hit safely in 15 of his 16 games this month, though he has just three multi-hit efforts. His steady bat has allowed him to collect four steals in September as well, giving him 16 thefts on the year. The 24-year-old has maintained a .268/.323/.510 slash line with 22 home runs, 57 RBI, 60 runs scored, 23 doubles and two triples across 118 contests.
