Burger is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Burger's six-game hitting streak was put to an end Friday, as he struck out in all three of his at-bats. He'll get a chance to regroup Saturday while Josh Smith starts at first, opening up left field for Dustin Harris.

Carpenter is starting in left field and batting first in Saturday's game against the Royals.

Carpenter has primarily batted second this season for the Tigers, but he'll slide up to the leadoff spot for the third time. The Royals are starting righty Seth Lugo, and Carpenter has a .954 OPS against righties so far this year. However, the outfielder is just 1-for-8 in his career against Lugo with two strikeouts.

Heim isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Heim will get a day off Saturday after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during Friday's series opener. Kyle Higashioka will do the catching instead for Nathan Eovaldi.

The White Sox recalled Shuster from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

The White Sox will call upon Shuster to provide the big-league club with some additional pitching depth while Martin Perez (elbow) moves to the injured list. Shuster has been used exclusively as a reliever in the minors this year, turning in a 1.59 ERA through 11.1 innings.

The White Sox placed Perez on the 15-day injured list Saturday with left elbow inflammation.

Perez made an early exit from his start Friday due to soreness in his forearm/elbow. The results of his MRI are still unknown, but the White Sox will shut him down for the next couple of weeks anyway. Chicago will need to find a replacement for the 34-year-old in its rotation, but for now, Jared Shuster will come up from Triple-A to give the Sox some extra bullpen depth.

The Tigers recalled Horn from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.

With John Brebbia (triceps) headed for the injured list, the Tigers will call upon Horn to help replenish the team's bullpen depth. The 27-year-old southpaw logged a 6.50 ERA in 18 innings with the Red Sox last season, and he's off to a similar start through 8.1 frames this year in Triple-A (6.48 ERA, 2.47 WHIP). He'll likely be limited to low-leverage situations while in Detroit.

The Tigers placed Brebbia on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right triceps strain.

Brebbia has been very effective out of the bullpen for Detroit, allowing just one earned run through nine innings. However, he'll now be held out for at least the next 15 days while he recovers from his injury. Bailey Horn will come up from Triple-A Toledo to fill the open spot on the pitching staff.

Adell went 3-for-3 with a double in Friday's 2-0 win over San Francisco.

Adell was held out of the Angels' lineup Thursday in the midst of a 1-for-13 stretch at the plate, and the day off seemed to benefit him, as the outfielder collected three of the team's five hits in his return. It was Adell's first three-hit performance of the season and just his third multi-hit effort over 15 contests. He's posted a modest .235/.291/.392 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, four runs and no stolen-base attempts on the campaign.

Rodriguez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Toronto.

Rodriguez will get a chance to regroup during his first day off Saturday after starting the season with a .179/.304/.359 slash line through 92 plate appearances. Luke Raley will shift to right field to cover for the 24-year-old, opening right field for Miles Mastrobuoni to start and bat leadoff.

Green retired the only batter he faced Friday to record his second hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Mariners.

The right-hander got the final out of the seventh inning, getting Ben Williamson to ground out with a runner in scoring position. Green has had an effective start to the season, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB through 8.2 innings.
