Effross (hamstring) has been sent to the Yankees' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment.

Effross has been out since late February with a Grade 2 hamstring strain but is finally ready to test things out in a game setting. The reliever should be ready to rejoin the Yankees' bullpen later this month, barring any setbacks.

Urena will be the Blue Jays' starting pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Angels, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Urena was officially signed to a major-league contract Monday and will go directly into the Blue Jays' rotation, at least for one turn. The right-hander was roughed up for five runs over three innings in a long-relief appearance for the Mets last month but had a solid 2024 season with the Rangers as a swingman, collecting a 3.80 ERA and 70:39 K:BB over 109 frames.

Lowe (oblique) has been sent to the Rays' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment.

The start of Lowe's rehab assignment was delayed a bit as he dealt with back spasms, but he seems to have put that behind him after being given an injection. The 27-year-old outfielder has been shelved by a right oblique strain, which he suffered on Opening Day. Lowe will eventually move up to a higher minor-league affiliate and should be ready to rejoin the Rays' active roster after a handful of rehab contests.

Hoglund is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Mariners in Sacramento.

The 25-year-old righty will be awarded a second turn through the rotation following an excellent MLB debut this past Friday, when he limited the Marlins to one earned run on six hits and no walks while striking out seven over six innings en route to picking up the win. Oakland will likely have a spot in the rotation available for Hoglund as long as J.T. Ginn (elbow) remains on the injured list.

Sewald (shoulder) will be rechecked at two-week intervals to determine progress and readiness to begin a throwing program, MLB.com reports.

Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt earlier indicated that Sewald would be a out for a while, so these two-week evaluations track with earlier comments. There is still not an estimated timeline for the right-hander's return.

Thomas (wrist) has begun a swinging progression, MLB.com reports.

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Monday that Thomas will "soon" participate in baseball activities, such has hitting, running and fielding. The outfielder first injured the wrist April 8, returned after a week, then aggravated the injury and landed on the 10-day injured list. A combination of (mostly) Angel Martinez, Nolan Jones and Daniel Schneemann have filled in at center field.

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two walks, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Crawford continues to sizzle -- he's hit safely in his last 13 games, going 20-for-52 (.385) with an 8:9 BB:K in that span. The shortstop is up to a .294 batting average with an .820 OPS, three home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored, one stolen base and three doubles over 33 contests. His .417 on-base percentage ranks fourth among qualified hitters in the majors through Monday's games. While he doesn't have the speed of a typical leadoff hitter, he's taken over the role amid his recent surge after often hitting ninth to begin 2025.

Munoz allowed an unearned run on a hit and walk while striking out three over one inning to take a blown save in Monday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.

Munoz's scoreless run to start the season ended on the first pitch of this appearance, as he allowed an RBI single by Jacob Wilson to knock in game-tying run to begin the 10th inning. Munoz then loaded the bases before striking out Lawrence Butler, Brent Rooker and Tyler Soderstrom in order to send the game to the 11th, where the Mariners ultimately lost on another Wilson hit. Since it was a ghost runner that scored, Munoz still has a sparkling 0.00 ERA to go with a 0.82 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB across 17 innings this season. However, he's now 12-for-13 in save chances, though this is shaping up to be the year he enters elite status among major-league closers.

Miller allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out one without walking a batter in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Monday.

Miller battled a back issue in his previous start, but he didn't appear to be limited Monday, throwing 63 of 94 pitches for strikes. While he found the zone just fine, he wasn't fooling the Athletics' hitters much. This was Miller's shortest start of the season by innings pitched, and it's the third time he's allowed at least four runs. He's at a mediocre 4.15 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 32:19 K:BB over 34.2 innings across seven starts, but this was his first start of the season in which he avoided walking a batter. Miller is projected for a home start versus the Blue Jays this weekend.

Urias went 3-for-4 in Monday's 7-6 win over the Mariners in 11 innings.

Urias provided some steady hitting from the No. 9 spot, though all three hits were singles and he wasn't directly involved in any scoring plays. Since April 20, he's been a regular in the Athletics' lineup, and he's gone 14-for-48 (.292) in that span. That has him up to a .272 batting average on the year to go with an .871 OPS, five home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases. Urias is holding down a starting role at second base, and with Zack Gelof (wrist/ribs) pausing his rehab assignment Monday, Urias should get a longer look in the lineup.
