Fermin is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

With Salvador Perez having been limited exclusively to designated hitter and first base so far this month while he's been managing a hip issue, Fermin has temporarily settled in as the Royals' No. 1 backstop. After playing behind the dish in five of the last six games, Fermin will get a breather Wednesday, paving the way for Luke Maile to handle the catching duties while Perez plays first base.

India is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

India will receive a routine day off after he had started and batted out of the leadoff spot in each of the Royals' last 12 games. Drew Waters will cover left field for India on Wednesday, while third baseman Maikel Garcia will assume table-setting duties.

Grisham is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Grisham opened the season as the Yankees' fourth outfielder, but thanks to a hot bat and solid defense, he appears to have moved into at least a semi-regular role. He'll hit the bench for Wednesday's series finale, but Grisham had started in center field and batted leadoff in each of the previous three games.

Double-A Chesapeake placed Pham on the 7-day injured list May 3 with right forearm inflammation, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Pham had an excellent first five appearances prior to the injury, logging a 3.42 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB in 23.2 innings. The 5-foot-11 righty is already 25 and in his third season at Double-A, as he came into the year with a lackluster scouting report highlighted by a solid cutter and decent control.

Jankowski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

The lefty-hitting Jankowski will hit the bench while the Phillies send southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the hill, but the veteran outfielder appears to have temporarily settled into a near-everyday role against right-handed pitching. Jankowski started in each of the Rays' last three matchups with righties and went 3-for-11 with a walk, a stolen base and three runs scored during that stretch.

Misner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Misner will hit the bench after he had started in each of the Rays' last five games. He went just 2-for-21 at the dish during that span and is now slashing .271/.314/.458 on the season, and his downward-trending production could begin to cost him some starts against left-handed pitching. The lefty-hitting Misner should still be in store for a regular spot in the lineup versus righties until the Rays reclaim some health in the outfield.

Double-A Chesapeake placed Reilly on the 7-day injured list April 23 with right elbow discomfort, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Reilly exited his third start of the year after just one scoreless inning due to the elbow issue. The 23-year-old righty has a 1.86 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 8:4 K:BB through 9.2 innings in his return to Double-A. Reilly's 10.8 percent walk rate this year is a career best.

Walls will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Walls will make his fourth straight start, with the Rays going up against two lefties and two righties during that span. The defensive-minded Walls owns a measly .504 OPS on the season and appeared to have fallen behind Jose Caballero on the depth chart at shortstop, but a surprise 4-for-5 performance in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Yankees might have enabled Walls to regain some job security.

The lefty-hitting Aranda will head to the bench while the Phillies send southpaw Cristopher Sanchez to the mound Wednesday. Aranda isn't in a strict platoon at first base, though he's now sat in three of the Rays' last four matchups with lefties.

Jansen will start at catcher and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Though he's occupying a prominent spot in the order against Phillies southpaw Cristopher Sanchez, Jansen looks like he may have temporarily fallen into the short side of a platoon at catcher. The lefty-hitting Ben Rortvedt has started in each of the Rays' last four matchups versus righties, while each of Jansen's last four starts have come against lefties.
