Torkelson went 5-for-9 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored as the Tigers swept Thursday's doubleheader versus the Rockies.

Torkelson hadn't put together a multi-hit effort since April 17, but he took advantage of the Rockies' lackluster pitching in the twin bill. Over seven games in May, the first baseman has gone 9-for-30 (.300) with five extra-base hits and eight RBI. He's up to a .254/.356/.551 slash line with 10 homers, 11 doubles, 32 RBI, 28 runs scored and a stolen base over 38 games this season. Torkelson's performance took a step back in 2024, but he could have a breakout year in his fourth major-league season.

Mize (6-1) allowed a run on three hits and struck out eight without walking a batter over six innings to earn the win in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Rockies.

Mize threw 86 pitches (63 strikes) and was never really challenged by the Rockies' offense. The Tigers gave him plenty of help with nine runs over the first three innings. This was Mize's fourth straight win and his third quality start this season. The right-hander is at a 2.53 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB across 42.2 innings over seven starts. Mize's control has been a big positive early in the season, and he'll look to keep things rolling in his next projected start at home versus the Red Sox.

Urena will start Sunday against the Mariners, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Urena signed with the Blue Jays on Saturday and made a start for the team a few days later. He'll stick in the rotation for now and could realistically be relied upon until Max Scherzer (thumb) can return from the IL. Urena has allowed seven earned runs across 7.1 innings and two appearances this season.

Langford went 1-for-4 with two steals in Thursday's 5-0 loss to the Red Sox.

Langford put himself in scoring position twice with the steals, his fifth and sixth of the season, but his teammates went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Rangers lost their sixth consecutive series, as the team-wide offensive struggles persist. Langford is one of the few Rangers getting on base with any regularity. He's reached base safely in seven straight contests and is batting .279/.353/.500 through 27 games.

Rengifo is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Rhett Bollinger reports.

Rengifo remains a key part of the Angels' lineup, though he has started to sit more of late. He began the regular season with only one day off through 21 games, but he since appears to be settling into a pattern of getting at least one day off per week. His slight downturn in playing time could be a result of his slow start at the dish, as he has just a .210/.246/.277 line across 126 plate appearances. Both Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson are in the lineup Thursday in Rengifo's absence.

Witt went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Thursday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.

It was another standout effort from Witt, who's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with six extra-base hits and four steals in his last five contests. The star shortstop is now slashing .325/.392/.530 with five homers, 23 RBI, 25 runs scored and 13 steals across 171 plate appearances this season.

Martin (1-4) took the loss Thursday against the Royals, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk across 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

It's the first time since April 17 that Martin allowed more than three earned runs -- he'd pitched to a 1.69 ERA in his previous three outings (16 innings). Overall, the 28-year-old Martin sports a 4.01 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB across 42.2 innings this year. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next week in Cincinnati.

Gimenez (quad) isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.

Gimenez made an early exit from Wednesday's contest due to right quad tightness, and he'll take a day off Thursday while he continues to recover. His absence will put Ernie Clement at second base and open a spot in the lineup for Nathan Lukes to start in left field while batting ninth. It was also announced that Gimenez underwent an MRI on Thursday, but the results are still unknown, per Mitch Bannon of The Athletic.

Bubic (4-2) earned the win Thursday over the White Sox, allowing six hits and one walk across seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

It was another stellar outing from Bubic, who's now held opponents scoreless in three of his last four starts. The southpaw's ERA is down to 1.69 through eight starts (48 innings) this year with a 1.10 WHIP and 47:14 K:BB. Bubic will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Houston.

McKinstry isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Colorado.

McKinstry will get a breather Thursday evening after going 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored during a 10-2 win in Game 1. Riley Greene, Brewer Hicklen and Kerry Carpenter will start across the Tigers' outfield while McKinstry sits.
