Hurter will start Wednesday against the Cardinals in what's expected to be a bullpen game for the Tigers, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Hurter frequently served as a bulk reliever for the Tigers in the second half of 2024, but he's occupied a more traditional relief role through the first two months of this season after missing out on a spot in the Opening Day rotation. The 26-year-old southpaw has pitched well over his 13 appearances, compiling a 2.35 ERA and 0.96 WHIP across 23 frames. He hasn't tossed more than 30 pitches in an appearance since April 26, so Hurter may not be asked to work deep enough into Wednesday's start to qualify for a win.

Guerrero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Padres.

Guerrero clobbered his sixth homer of the season, and he's now logged at least one hit in 17 of his last 19 games. During this period, the All-Star first baseman is batting .314 (22-for-70) with four homers, two doubles, nine RBI and 17 runs scored. Guerrero has also drawn 14 walks during this span.

Heim went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees.

Heim was able to get the Rangers on the board in the ninth inning, when he took Ian Hamilton deep to right field for a two-run homer. Heim has gone 4-for-10 with one home run and five RBI over his last three starts.

Corbin (3-3) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings.

Despite limiting the Yankees to three runs Tuesday, Corbin still came away with the loss as the Rangers were kept off the board until the ninth. Corbin hasn't yielded more than three earned runs in any of his eight starts this season and has a 3.59 ERA over 42.2 innings, which is in stark contrast to the 5.71 ERA he posted across the four prior years. He's in line to face the White Sox on the road this weekend.

Rice went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Rice entered Tuesday's game with a .173 batting average across 37 plate appearances against left-handers, but he put the Yankees on the board in the second inning by taking southpaw Patrick Corbin deep to right field for a solo homer. Rice extended the Yankees' lead to two runs on a sacrifice fly in the fourth frame, which gave him his sixth multi-RBI game of the season. Rice has a .902 OPS across 165 plate appearances this season, which is fifth best in the American League.

Judge went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and another run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Texas.

Judge extended the Yankees' lead to five runs in the eighth inning when he took Caleb Boushley deep for a two-run home run that barely made it over the right-field fence. Judge has six home runs since the beginning of May and 16 on the season, ranking third in the majors behind Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Schwarber, both of whom have 17 homers this year.

Warren (3-2) earned the win against the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out 10 across 5.2 scoreless innings.

Warren didn't allow more than one baserunner through his first five innings. He loaded the bases in the sixth but avoided being tagged for any runs after being lifted for Mark Leiter, who struck out Joc Pederson. Warren has yielded three earned runs or fewer while striking out at least seven batters over his last four outings, and his 60 strikeouts (across 46.2 innings) are tied with teammate Max Fried for 10th in the American League this season. Warren is lined up to face the struggling Rockies on the road this weekend.

Hoffman earned the save Tuesday against the Padres after throwing a clean ninth inning. He struck out one.

Hoffman was sharp, making quick work of the heart of San Diego's batting order while hurling eight of his nine pitches for strikes. Tuesday marked a second consecutive scoreless outing for the hard-throwing right-hander, who had yielded 11 runs over his previous three innings of work. The Blue Jays have shown trust in Hoffman as their closer after signing him to a three-year contract this past offseason, and the 32-year-old righty carries a 1.13 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB while converting 10 of his 12 save opportunities despite a shaky 5.48 ERA across 21.1 innings in 2025.

Weaver earned the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers after recording the final out of the ninth inning.

The Yankees entered the ninth inning up 5-0, but Weaver was brought in to close things out after Ian Hamilton gave up a two-run home run to Jonah Heim. Weaver was able to make quick work of Josh Smith, needing just two pitches to record the final out and earn the save. It's the second outing in a row in which Weaver has tallied a one-out save, and he is up to six saves on the season with a 0.44 ERA, 0.58 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB across 20.2 innings.

Bassitt (4-2) earned the win Tuesday against the Padres after allowing four hits and one walk in six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Tuesday marked Bassitt's first scoreless start in his last seven outings, and he also fanned six in his third straight appearance. The veteran right-hander's four hits allowed fell just one short of his season best, and he's now given up only one run over his past two starts after surrendering 15 runs across his prior four outings. Bassitt has thrown at least five innings in each of his 10 appearances this year, and he'll bring a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB covering 57.1 innings into his next scheduled start against the Rays.
