Martinez will start at center field and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Lane Thomas' (foot) recent move to the injured list has cleared the way for Martinez to hold down a regular lineup spot, but the 23-year-old may need to pick up the pace at the plate to ensure his playing time remains steady once Thomas returns. The Guardians have continued to roll with Martinez in the No. 2 spot in the lineup, even though he's slashing an unremarkable .206/.235/.340 since the beginning of May.

Garcia will start in right field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Garcia was held out of the lineup for each of the previous four contests as he battled through a slump, but he entered Tuesday's 5-1 loss as a pinch hitter and is back in the lineup Wednesday. The 32-year-old is slashing only .211/.258/.372 for Texas this season and could be at risk of losing out on playing time in the outfield to rookie Alejandro Osuna if he's unable to turn things around.

The Rangers optioned Heuer to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Heuer is being sent down to clear a spot on the active roster for Kumar Rocker (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Wednesday against the Rays. The reliever allowed one run over 1.1 innings in his lone appearance with the big club.

The Rangers activated Rocker (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Rocker is slated to rejoin the rotation Wednesday with a start against the Rays after being sidelined since late April with a right shoulder impingement. He threw only 53 pitches and four innings in his final rehab outing, so Rocker is likely to have a limited workload versus Tampa Bay.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Dominguez (thumb) will take some swings prior to Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Dominguez is missing a second straight start Wednesday due to a left thumb contusion. However, he is available off the bench to pinch run and is considered day-to-day.

Dubon is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.

Dubon seemed to have settled in as the Astros' primary option at second base to close out May, but the promotion of outfielder Jacob Melton over the weekend appears to have indirectly cost Dubon his spot in the team's everyday lineup. With the Astros having thus far opened up regular role for Melton in the outfield, Jose Altuve has moved to second base for three of his past four games, resulting in Dubon hitting the bench for three of those contests.

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox due to groin tightness.

Soler went 1-for-1 with a walk and a base hit before Matthew Lugo came on to replace him in right field in the bottom of the third inning. The severity of Soler's groin injury isn't yet known, and the Angels could send him in for further tests before an update on his status is provided ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Mariners.

Quero is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Tigers.

Quero has been alternating starts at catcher with Korey Lee since the latter returned from the injured list last week, although Quero received an additional start at designated hitter during that stretch. Still, the rookie catcher looks as though he may play a bit less with Lee around than he did when Matt Thaiss was still with the White Sox. Quero is slashing only .188/.263/.232 over his last 21 games and is still looking for his first major-league home run.

Leon was pulled off his rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday after aggravating his left knee sprain, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Leon hadn't seen game action since Saturday and now the Astros have divulged the reason why. It's not clear at this point how long this might set Leon back. He's been out all season with a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his knee.

Clement is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Clement will head to the bench for the first time since May 16, breaking a streak of 16 consecutive starts in which he slashed .305/.379/.475 with two home runs and a 6:6 BB:K. During that time, Clement made most of his starts at second base, but he'll likely be in line to see most of his playing time at third base moving forward after the Blue Jays welcomed Andres Gimenez back from the injured list Tuesday. Clement should have a regular spot in the lineup versus lefties, but Gimenez's return could render Clement more of a part-time player against righties. Addison Barger will likely play third base on the days Clement is out of the lineup, while Nathan Lukes, Jonatan Clase and Alan Roden will be candidates to pick up starts in the corner outfield.
