The Tigers selected Jones' contract from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Jones has an .874 OPS with six homers and eight stolen bases in 52 games with Toledo this year, and he'll receive his first look in the majors of 2025. He offers some defensively versatility but isn't likely to see much playing time while up with the big club.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that Bregman (quadriceps) is feeling better and has started his running progression, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Bregman landed on the 10-day injured list May 24 after straining his right quad while rounding first base. It was deemed a "significant strain" similar to the one he sustained in 2021 with the Astros, which caused him to miss 58 games, per Starr. How Bregman progresses in his running program will determine when he'll take the next step in his rehab and provide a clearer timeline for his return.

The Tigers optioned Ibanez to Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

The 32-year-old has been a key lineup piece against left-handed pitching for the Tigers over the past couple years, but he has a .681 OPS in 70 plate appearances versus southpaws so far in 2025. Ibanez is likely to rejoin the big club once he gets back on track at the Triple-A level.

The Athletics placed Langeliers on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left oblique strain.

Langeliers was removed in the middle of his at-bat in the sixth inning of Thursday's game against the Twins after tweaking his oblique. He'll undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury, but the 27-year-old catcher could be facing a lengthy stint on the IL. The Athletics will turn to Willie MacIver and Jhonny Pereda to serve behind home plate for as long as Langeliers is on the shelf.

The Athletics recalled Pereda from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.

With Shea Langeliers (oblique) headed for the injured list, the A's will call upon Pereda to replenish the big club's depth behind the plate. The 29-year-old backstop has gone just 6-for-36 in the majors this season and will presumably work as a temporary backup to Willie MacIver.

Blanco's (elbow) Tommy John procedure included an internal brace and a repair of the flexor tendon in his forearm, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reported Friday.

Blanco underwent the surgery Friday, and the procedure included some fixes to the flexor tendon. Blanco isn't expected back until deep into the 2026 season.

O'Hoppe is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

O'Hoppe will be rested for Friday's contest while Travis d'Arnaud serves behind home plate and bats sixth. O'Hoppe has struggled at the plate as of late, having gone 3-for-26 with one RBI and a 40.7 percent strikeout rate over his last eight games.

Soler (groin) is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Soler was removed from Wednesday's game against the Red Sox due to groin tightness, but it doesn't appear to be a lingering issue as he's back in the lineup for Friday's American League West clash. Soler has slashed .200/.279/.345 with two home runs and eight RBI in 61 plate appearances over his last 15 games.

The Angels reinstated Fermin (elbow) from the injured list Friday.

A right elbow impingement sent Fermin to the injured list in mid-May, but after making two rehab appearances in rookie ball, he's been given the green light to rejoin the Halos' bullpen. The 23-year-old rookie has given up five earned runs in 7.2 MLB innings and isn't likely to be used in high-leverage situations.

Jeffers is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Jeffers will be in the dugout for Friday's weekend opener while Christian Vazquez serves behind home plate and bats ninth. Jeffers has gone 6-for-23 with four runs, one home run and two RBI over his last six games.
