  • Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Hoping for brief IL stint

The Mariners are optimistic that Donovan (groin) will be able to avoid a lengthy stay on the 10-day injured list, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times reports.

Donovan landed on the 10-day injured list Monday after missing Seattle's previous two matchups due to the left groin injury. "It doesn't seem like it's going to be a longer-term situation," said manager Dan Wilson. "But again, we just kind of have to assess it as we go." Wilson also mentioned that Donovan's groin injury seems to be related to a sports hernia, which required surgery last October and forced him to miss the last month of the 2025 season while with St. Louis. "This is just something that we're going to take as cautiously as we can. It's early and we want to give him the best chance to get back and be 100%," noted Wilson. An official timetable for Donovan's return should come into focus after he starts to make progress in his rehab.

  • Kyle Bradish SP | BAL

Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Punches out seven in no-decision

Bradish did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on 10 hits and three walks over 5.1 innings against Kansas City. He struck out seven.

Bradish allowed his share of baserunners but limited the damage, with his lone run allowed coming on a Jac Caglianone solo homer in the second inning. The right-hander had allowed multiple runs in each of his first four starts and entered Monday with a 5.49 ERA, but his effort in Kansas City lowered that mark to 3.96 across 25 innings. Bradish's next start is scheduled for Sunday against Boston.

  • Anthony Nunez RP | BAL

Orioles' Anthony Nunez: Adds first win to strong start

Nunez (1-0) recorded the win Monday against the Royals, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk in two innings of relief. He struck out one.

The rookie right-hander is emerging as a multi-inning weapon out of the Baltimore bullpen, producing a 1.59 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB over his first 11.1 frames. Nunez has three holds and one save opportunity so far, and he's making a serious case for more high-leverage work going forward.

  • Joe Boyle SP | TB

Rays' Joe Boyle: Return not imminent

Boyle (elbow) is playing catch from 90 feet, MLB.com reports.

The Rays are hopeful that the right-hander will be able to throw a bullpen session by the end of April. Boyle is on the 15-day injured list due to a right elbow strain, and he may need a minor-league rehab assignment before being cleared to rejoin Tampa Bay's rotation. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to be available until sometime in May.

  • Isaac Paredes 3B | HOU

Astros' Isaac Paredes: Posts ninth career multi-homer game

Paredes went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs in Monday's 9-2 win over the Guardians.

Paredes delivered his ninth career multi-homer game Monday for his first big flies of the season. The 27-year-old infielder has just three multi-hit efforts in 2026, and he's still searching for consistency in his power stroke. Over his first 79 trips to the plate, Paredes is slashing .221/.329/.368 with the aforementioned two long balls, four doubles and 16 RBI.

  • Astros' Christian Walker: Hot start continues Monday

Walker went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and two additional runs scored in Monday's 9-2 win over the Guardians.

It was a breakout performance by Walker, who had entered Monday in a brief 0-for-15 cold spell over his prior five games. Following a disappointing debut season with Houston a year ago, Walker is off to an excellent start in 2026. The 35-year-old first baseman is slashing .274/.367/.536 with 12 extra-base hits, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored across 98 plate appearances.

  • Slade Cecconi SP | CLE

Guardians' Slade Cecconi: Pummeled by Astros in third loss

Cecconi (0-3) took the loss Monday against the Astros, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out two.

Most of the damage to Cecconi was done in the fourth inning, when Houston plated four runs on five hits (one home run). The right-hander was hit around for double-digit knocks for the fourth time in his career, and he also fanned a season-low two. Cecconi has a 6.20 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB over 24.2 innings, making him a difficult fantasy option to trust in his next scheduled outing against the Blue Jays.

  • Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Five decent innings in second win

Arrighetti (2-0) notched the win Monday against the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Control remained a problem for Arrighetti, who walked four batters in his second consecutive start, but he got plenty of run support and pitched just well enough to keep Cleveland in check. The Astros are hurting for starting pitchers in the early going, as Hunter Brown (shoulder), Tatsuya Imai (arm) and Cristian Javier (shoulder) are all sidelined already, so Arrighetti should stick around in the rotation for a while longer. The right-hander is set to bring a 2.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB over his first 11 innings into a tough matchup against the Yankees this weekend.

  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Expected to miss time

Manager Joe Espada stated after Monday's game against the Guardians that Trammell (groin) will "be out for a little bit," Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Trammell suffered a left groin injury while running the bases Monday, and it sounds as though he'll require a trip to the injured list. An official move should come at some point Tuesday. Dustin Harris and Brice Matthews could see more time in center field while Trammell is sidelined.

  • Blue Jays' Ricky Tiedemann: Cleared for mound work

Tiedemann (elbow) has been throwing bullpens at Toronto's Player Development Complex in Dunedin, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Tiedemann was shut down from throwing in February after experiencing left elbow soreness. However, he's since gained clearance to resume mound work in mid March and has lately progressed to side sessions. The Blue Jays haven't provided a clear timetable for his return, but he'll report to Triple-A Buffalo once healthy.
