Mayo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Mayo has been seeing semi-regular playing time since being recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on May 31, but he's gone just 4-for-22 with one extra-base hit (a double), a stolen base and a 2:5 BB:K over a stretch of seven games. With the Orioles getting two key position players in Jordan Westburg and Cedric Mullins back from the injured list earlier this week, Mayo could end up being squeezed out of the lineup on a more frequent basis if he's unable to pick up the pace at the plate.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Burdi (foot) could begin a rehab assignment before the end of the week, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Burdi was placed on the 15-day injured list just over a week ago with a right foot contusion and is close to being cleared to test things out in a game setting. The reliever is eligible for activation June 18 and appears likely to return around that date, barring a setback.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Hendriks (hip) has yet to resume baseball activities, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Hendriks has been sidelined since late May due to right hip inflammation and appears no closer to returning. He's struggled in 14 relief outings for Boston this season, collecting a 6.59 ERA and 12:7 K:BB over 13.2 frames.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Crawford (knee/wrist) will revert to playing catch after not "feeling great" during his last bullpen session, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Crawford has been rehabbing a right knee injury since the start of spring training, but it's a wrist issue that's given him trouble recently and the latter seems to be a bigger concern at this point. A timetable for Crawford's return won't become clearer until he starts ramping things up again and is able to throw against live hitters.

Walls will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Walls appears to have taken back primary duties at shortstop away from Jose Caballero, who is on the bench against a righty for the second time in three contests and who has also made two of his previous three starts in the outfield. Meanwhile, Walls will be occupying shortstop for the sixth time in seven games, with his hot run at the plate giving Rays manager Kevin Cash some extra incentive to keep his bat in the lineup. Walls has opened June by going 7-for-20 with a home run, two doubles, two walks, a stolen base and six RBI in seven contests. His stint at the top of the depth chart could be brief however, with Ha-Seong Kim (shoulder) closing in on his activation from the injured list.

Meadows is starting in center field and batting first in Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Meadows slid down to No. 9 in the order Tuesday with Baltimore starting lefty Cade Povich, but he's back in the leadoff spot against righty Zach Eflin. The outfielder, who missed the first 60 games of the year while recovering from a nerve issue in his throwing arm, has gotten off to a bit of a slow start with a .185/.313/.296 slash line, though the Tigers seem committed to him as a fixture at the top of their lineup against righties.

Caballero is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Caballero should continue to play regularly versus left-handed pitching, but he seems to have fallen back into a timeshare at shortstop with Taylor Walls when the Rays face right-handed pitching. Caballero will take a seat for the second time in the Rays' last three matchups versus righties to open up a spot in the lineup for Walls, who offers a better glove and has been hot at the plate lately (7-for-17 with a home run and two doubles over his last five games).

Jansen is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Boston.

Jansen caught both of the first two games of the series, so he'll get a breather for the finale. Matt Thaiss will start behind the plate and bat seventh for the Rays.

Rogers is starting at catcher and batting eighth in Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

With Dillon Dingler getting a breather following two straight starts, Rogers will slide into Wednesday's lineup. The latter is struggling at the plate this season with a .139/.244/.194 slash line and no home runs, making him an unattractive fantasy option while Dingler continues to see the bulk of the starts at catcher.

Baez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Though his playing time in the outfield has dried up following the recent returns of Wenceel Perez and Parker Meadows from the injured list, Baez has seen more work at shortstop of late while the struggling Trey Sweeney has started to get phased out of the lineup. Zach McKinstry will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but Baez drew the previous two starts at the position.
