  • Orioles' Emmanuel Rivera: Drives in four

Rivera went 2-for-5 with four RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Padres.

Rivera took care of business with a pair of two-run singles to account for a majority of the Orioles' runs in this win. He has gone 6-for-17 (.353) over five games since his most recent call-up Aug. 27. He's sharing third base with Jeremiah Jackson for now, though both players figure to see their chances drop once Jordan Westburg (ankle) is able to return. Over 94 plate appearances in the majors this year, Rivera is slashing .253/.309/.287 with no home runs, three doubles, nine RBI, three runs scored and one stolen base.

  • Colton Cowser CF | BAL

Orioles' Colton Cowser: Posts steal in win

Cowser went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Padres.

Cowser's bat has cooled off a bit recently -- this was his first multi-hit effort in eight games. Over that span, he's 4-for-30 (.133) with a 1:15 BB:K. The outfielder is up to a .215/.278/.398 slash line with 12 home runs, 30 RBI, 28 runs scored and nine steals across 283 plate appearances this season.

  • Orioles' Jeremiah Jackson: Stays hot with homer

Jackson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a second RBI and a walk in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Padres.

Jackson opened the scoring with a solo shot in the first inning. This was his fourth homer of the season, three of which have come over the last four games. He's now at a .333/.358/.539 slash line with 17 RBI, 15 runs scored, five doubles, two triples and no stolen bases over 28 contests to begin his big-league career. Jackson's hot hitting has earned him a near-everyday role in the Orioles' lineup, and if he can keep it up, he'll be well-positioned to contribute next season as well.

  • Tyler Wells SP | BAL

Orioles' Tyler Wells: Wins in return to majors

Wells (1-0) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Padres.

Wells missed nearly 15 months while recovering from his June 14, 2024 UCL revision and internal brace augmentation procedure. He had a fairly normal workload in his return to a big-league mound, throwing 65 of 85 pitches for strikes while keeping a strong offense under control. Luis Arraez's two-run home run accounted for the runs on Wells' line. Wells posted a 2.49 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB over 25.1 innings across six outings during his rehab assignment, and he appears to be stretched out enough to remains in the Orioles' rotation over the final month of the season. His second start is projected to be at home versus the Pirates.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Records 10th steal

Smith went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Smith is up to 10 steals on the year, though he hadn't logged one over his first 41 games in the second half. His previous pilfer came versus the Astros on July 12. Smith has gone 7-for-29 (.241) over his last eight games and continues to see steady time at shortstop versus right-handed pitchers to cover the absence of Corey Seager (appendectomy). On the year, Smith is slashing .255/.334/.375 with nine home runs, 33 RBI, 63 runs scored, 22 doubles and two triples through 500 plate appearances in a utility role.

  • Jacob Latz RP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob Latz: Takes no-decision Tuesday

Latz allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one over 5.1 innings to take a no-decision Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Latz had a fine start, but he was given a short leash after running into trouble in the sixth inning. He exited at 71 pitches (45 strikes) after issuing a pair of one-out walks, and reliever Luis Curvelo wasn't able to shut things down. Over his last three outings (two starts), Latz has allowed four runs over 13 innings while posting a 10:4 K:BB. He's at a 3.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 62:31 K:BB through 68.2 innings over 28 appearances (five starts) in the majors this season. Latz is tentatively projected to draw a tough home start versus the Brewers early next week.

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Launches another grand slam

Grisham went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a second run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Astros.

For the second time in his last four games, Grisham delivered a grand slam. The veteran outfielder is hitting .248 with an .841 OPS, 29 homers, 61 RBI, 73 runs scored and three stolen bases across 121 contests this season. Aside from steals, he's tracking toward a career year in most areas.

  • Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Fills box score in win

Chisholm went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Astros.

Chisholm did a little bit of everything to help the Yankees' offense in this one. He has racked up six homers and four steals over his last nine games, batting .323 (10-for-31) in that span. Overall, he's up to a .243/.342/.505 slash line with 28 homers, 26 steals, 70 RBI, 68 runs scored, 13 doubles and one triple over 106 contests.

  • Max Fried SP | NYY

Yankees' Max Fried: Strong in 15th win

Fried (15-5) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over seven innings to earn the win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Fried has strung together three straight quality starts after opening August in poor form. Over those last three starts, he's given up two runs while posting an 18:8 K:BB across 20 innings. The southpaw trimmed his ERA to 2.98 and also has a 1.11 WHIP and 159:45 K:BB through 169 innings over 28 starts this season. Fried will face a big test in his next start, which is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays this weekend.

  • Framber Valdez SP | HOU

Astros' Framber Valdez: Tough outing versus Yankees

Valdez (12-8) allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight over five innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Yankees.

Aside from his seven shutout innings versus the Rockies last week, Valdez has been struggling mightily since the start of August. He's now allowed 27 runs (25 earned) over his last 35.1 innings. Tuesday's outing also saw him give up multiple home runs for the first time since July 5. Valdez is now at a 3.40 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 166:57 K:BB through 169.1 innings across 27 starts. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is projected to be at Toronto next week.
