  • Jake Burger 1B | TEX

Rangers' Jake Burger: Activated off IL

Burger (quadriceps) was activated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Burger is back on the active roster for the first time since being placed on the injured list July 16 with a strained left quad. He'll immediately join the starting nine, slotting in at DH and batting seventh for Friday's series opener against Philadelphia. Alejandro Osuna was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

  • Jordyn Adams CF | MIL

Orioles' Jordyn Adams: Back in Baltimore

The Orioles recalled Adams from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Baltimore placed Colton Cowser (concussion) and Tyler O'Neill (wrist) on the injured list Friday, opening up an opportunity for Adams to see some big-league action. The 25-year-old is slashing .185/.283/.282 in 229 plate appearances this season at Norfolk.

  • Colton Cowser CF | BAL

Orioles' Colton Cowser: Dealing with concussion

The Orioles placed Cowser on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday, retroactive to Aug. 7, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Cowser will be sidelined for at least a week after sustaining a concussion. Fellow outfielder Tyler O'Neill (wrist) was also placed on the injured list Friday, leaving the Orioles' outfield thin. Jordyn Adams was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move. Per Kubatko, the concussion is considered mild and Cowser could be back after the minimum seven days.

  • Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: On injured list

The Orioles placed O'Neill on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Aug. 6, due to right wrist inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

O'Neill jammed his wrist against the outfield wall Tuesday, and while his X-rays returned negative, the Orioles will give him an extended period of rest. Jordyn Adams was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk as part of a series of moves Friday. Look for Adams, Jeremiah Jackson and Greg Allen to see most of the work in right field while O'Neill is idle.

  • Trevor Larnach LF | MIN

    Twins' Trevor Larnach: Still idle

Larnach (side) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Kansas City.

Larnach was scratched from Wednesday's game with left side soreness, and he'll be held out of the lineup once again for the series opener against the Royals. Mickey Gasper will DH and bat ninth Friday.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Back from IL

Mountcastle (hamstring) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mountcastle will make his first MLB appearance since May 30, when he sustained a Grade 2 hamstring strain. He'll DH and bat fifth Friday. Colton Cowser (concussion) and Tyler O'Neill (wrist) were placed on the injured list in corresponding moves.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Activated, available off bench

The Angels reinstated Moncada from the restricted list Friday.

Moncada rejoins the team after stepping away to take his U.S. citizenship test, but he isn't part of the starting nine for Friday's series opener against Detroit. Niko Kavadas was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. Moncada has a .756 OPS in 172 plate appearances this season.

  • White Sox's Wikelman Gonzalez: Back with White Sox

The White Sox recalled Gonzalez from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Gonzalez will take Jonathan Cannon's spot on the active roster, joining the big-league bullpen for the first time since being optioned July 22. In three outings with the White Sox this season, the 23-year-old has allowed two runs on four hits with a 5:4 K:BB across five innings.

  • White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Sent down to Triple-A

The White Sox optioned Cannon to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.

Cannon had yielded six or more runs in three consecutive starts, and he'll lose his spot on the active roster as a result. The poor stretch of play came out of nowhere for Cannon, as he had allowed six total runs in his previous four outings before the rough stretch. Wikelman Gonzalez was recalled from Charlotte in a corresponding move.

  • Greg Allen CF | BAL

Orioles' Greg Allen: Latches on with O's

The Orioles signed Allen to a major-league contract Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Allen was released by the Cubs earlier in August, but he'll get a fresh start and a chance to see his first MLB action since 2023. The 32-year-old switch hitter slashed .271/.358/.438 with six homers and 12 steals in 234 plate appearances with Triple-A Iowa this season. He'll likely serve as a depth piece rather than a starting lineup regular.
