Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman: Fans eight in no-decision

Gausman didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Brewers, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

The veteran righty rose to the challenge of facing the team with the best record in the league, firing 66 strikes among his 96 pitches in his 13th quality start of the season, but the Blue Jays couldn't give him much run support in a game that got decided in the ninth inning. Over eight outings since the All-Star break, Gausman has produced a 2.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 53:9 K:BB in 51 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Yankee Stadium.

  • Albert Suarez RP | BAL

Orioles' Albert Suarez: Trending toward Monday return

Suarez (shoulder) could be activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Suarez has been on the IL since late March with a subscapularis strain in his right shoulder, but he's on the cusp of rejoining the big club. The 35-year-old right-hander began a rehab assignment Aug. 12 and has since given up five earned runs over 12.2 innings while striking out five batters and walking six over five appearances between Double-A Chesapeake and Triple-A Norfolk. He had built up to five innings by his third rehab outing but has been limited to less than two frames in both of his last two appearances, which indicates that the Orioles plan to use him out of the bullpen once he's activated.

  • Brett Harris 3B | BOS

Athletics' Brett Harris: Riding pine Saturday

Harris isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Harris will miss a second consecutive start since going 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored during Wednesday's game against Detroit. Darell Hernaiz will get the nod at third base instead and bat eighth.

  • Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH

Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Remaining out Saturday

Kurtz (oblique) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Texas.

Oblique soreness forced Kurtz to make an early exit from Friday's game, and the issue is apparently severe enough to keep him from playing Saturday as well. While the 22-year-old rookie takes a day to recover, Tyler Soderstrom will shift to first base with Carlos Cortes patrolling left field.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

    Tigers' Javier Baez: Resting Saturday

Baez isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Kansas City.

After collecting a base hit and scoring a run during Friday's win, Baez will retreat to the dugout Saturday with Riley Greene, Wenceel Perez and Kerry Carpenter in the outfield for the Tigers.

  • Zach McKinstry 2B | DET

    Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Idle Saturday

McKinstry isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

McKinstry will sit down Saturday after making seven consecutive starts, going 7-for-24 with a homer, three RBI and four runs scored in the process. Trey Sweeney will take his place at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Cody Poteet RP | BAL

Orioles' Cody Poteet: Activated, outrighted to Norfolk

The Orioles reinstated Poteet (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Saturday and sent him outright to Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Poteet surrendered five earned runs in 2.2 innings during his lone appearance of the season for the Orioles on April 20, and he landed on the injured list shortly afterward with right shoulder inflammation. Now fully healthy, he'll stay put in the minor leagues while also giving up his spot on the Orioles' 40-man roster. If he bounces back well at Norfolk, the 31-year-old righty may receive another look with Baltimore at some point in September.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Getting Saturday off

Stanton isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Stanton will receive a day off Saturday after going 0-for-7 with a run scored and three strikeouts over the first two games of the series. It will instead be Jasson Dominguez, Trent Grisham and Cody Bellinger in the outfield for New York, with Aaron Judge working as the DH.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Out of lineup Saturday

Moore isn't in the starting nine against Houston on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore has recently seen his playing time surge back up, as he came into Saturday having started four of the Angels' previous five games, going 4-for-15 with a home run during that span. However, he'll begin on the bench Saturday while Luis Rengifo starts at second base.

  • Gabriel Arias 3B | CLE

Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Not in lineup after Friday's HBP

Arias (wrist) isn't starting against Seattle on Saturday.

Arias was hit on the right wrist by a pitch during Friday's contest and had to leave the game. He took X-rays that came back negative, but the versatile IF/OF will nonetheless begin on the bench Saturday. Brayan Rocchio is starting at shortstop in his stead.
