Forcucci (elbow/back) has started twice for Single-A Fayetteville since being cleared to make his professional debut April 10, covering 1.2 innings while striking out three and allowing two earned runs on one hit and five walks.
A third-round selection in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Forcucci didn't pitch at all that season or in 2025 after undergoing Tommy John surgery shortly before being selected by the Astros. The 23-year-old righty had also been managing a back injury in spring training, but he finally received the green light to pitch in games shortly after the Carolina League season got underway. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Forcucci has struggled mightily with his control coming off major elbow surgery. In addition to walking five of the 12 batters he's faced, Forcucci has also hit a batter and uncorked three wild pitches.

Forcucci (elbow, lower back) should be ready to pitch for an Astros affiliate sometime in April, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Forcucci was on the mend from Tommy John surgery when the Astros drafted him in the third round in 2024, and he has yet to make his return from that injury. Callis also notes a lower-back injury for Forcucci, so it's possible his arm is fully recovered and it's his back that is delaying his pro debut at this point. Forcucci carries immense durability risk, but he had a monster upper-90s fastball in college and he could generate buzz in dynasty leagues once he returns to game action.

Forcucci (elbow) should make his pro debut late this season, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Forcucci had Tommy John surgery in June, and if all goes perfectly during his rehab, he would have a chance to pitch in games in August or September. The hard-throwing righty could also be a candidate to head to the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time.
