Angels' Scott Kingery: DFA'd on Saturday

Kingery was designated for assignment Saturday.

This is the second time Kingery has been DFA'd this season, with the previous move taking place Aug. 11. The veteran infielder has struggled at the plate during his time with the Angels, slashing a measly .148/.207/.185 with one stolen base and 11 strikeouts over 29 plate appearances. Kingery's 40-man roster spot has been assumed by Denzer Guzman, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Returns to big-league club

The Angels recalled Moore from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Moore struggled in his first taste of the majors earlier this season, slashing .195/.287/.336 with four home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs and no stolen bases over 130 plate appearances. He posted a meager .561 OPS over 10 games with Salt Lake after getting sent down Sept. 1 but will nonetheless get another look with the major-league squad. Moore is starting at second base and batting fifth Saturday versus Seattle, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

  • Jo Adell RF | LAA

Angels' Jo Adell: In Saturday's lineup

Adell (illness) will start in right field and bat fourth against the Mariners on Saturday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Adell has been in and out of the lineup for the past week while battling vertigo, and he appears to be feeling well enough to play Saturday. The 26-year-old outfielder has started the month strong by going 11-for-31 (.355) with five homers and 12 RBI through nine games.

  • Denzer Guzman 3B | LAA

Angels' Denzer Guzman: Called up to majors

The Angels selected Guzman's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Guzman has played both shortstop and third base in the minors this season and has slashed .247/.343/.769 with 17 home runs, 74 RBI and 14 stolen bases across 129 games between Double-A and Triple-A. Zach Neto (hand) remains out of the Angels' lineup Saturday, so Guzman is starting at shortstop and batting seventh for what will be his MLB debut, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. Los Angeles also promoted infielder Christian Moore from the minors Saturday while designating infielder Scott Kingery for assignment. Outfielder Matthew Lugo was also optioned to Salt Lake in a move that helped make room on the 26-man roster for Guzman and Moore.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Taking seat Saturday

Rengifo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Seattle, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Despite collecting a base hit in each of the first two games of the series, Rengifo will retreat to the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Christian Moore will start at second base instead during his first day back in the majors and bat fifth against right-hander Bryan Woo.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Out again Saturday

Neto (hand) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

The 24-year-old will grab a seat on the bench for the second day in a row after injuring his hand on a swing Thursday. The newly promoted Denzer Guzman will start at shortstop in Neto's place. Neto could be available off the bench later in the contest, per Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register.

  • Oswald Peraza 2B | LAA

Angels' Oswald Peraza: On bench Saturday

Peraza isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

After going 3-for-17 with seven strikeouts in his last five games, Peraza will stay put in the Angels' dugout Saturday while the team sends out Logan Davidson to cover first base.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sitting again Saturday

Soderstrom (groin) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Soderstrom will sit down for a second consecutive game after experiencing tightness in his groin during Wednesday's contest. His absence will allow Carlos Cortes to pick up another start in left field for the A's.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Out of Saturday's lineup

Dubon isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Dubon will get a chance to rest his legs Saturday after going 1-for-4 with two RBI in Friday's blowout victory. His absence will move Jose Altuve to second base while Zach Cole starts in left field.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Sitting Saturday

Caglianone isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Caglianone will get a breather Saturday after going 2-for-15 with two RBI and a run scored across his last five games. His absence will give Carter Jensen a start as Kansas City's designated hitter while batting eighth.
