Angel Genao SS | CLE
Guardians' Angel Genao: Cut from big-league camp
The Guardians optioned Genao to minor-league camp Monday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Genao nabbed a spot on the Guardians' 40-man roster this offseason, but he was always destined to head back to the minors for more seasoning. The 21-year-old infielder was limited by a shoulder injury last season, but he's healthy now and should begin the year back at Double-A Akron.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Back at shortstop
Crawford (shoulder) will start at shortstop and bat fifth in Monday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks.
Crawford will be included in the Cactus League lineup for the sixth time this spring, but he'll be making just his second start at shortstop and his first since Feb. 20. The 31-year-old has been battling a cranky shoulder during camp, which prompted the Mariners to use him as a designated hitter for his last four starts. Crawford should be ready to play shortstop on an everyday basis once the regular season gets underway; the Mariners appear to have simply exercised caution this spring by limiting his usage in the infield early on.

Leo De Vries SS | ATH
Athletics' Leo De Vries: Monster spring performance
De Vries went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a grand slam in Sunday's Cactus League win over the Dodgers.
De Vries made his presence felt, first demolishing a two-run rocket over the right-field fence off Kyle Hurt in the fourth inning before launching a grand slam off Carson Hobbs in the fifth frame. Both blasts came from the left side for the switch-hitter, who's slashing .385/.429/.615 through 11 spring contests after Sunday's outburst. The 19-year-old is likely to begin the season with Double-A Midland or Triple-A Las Vegas, though the top prospect could push to make his major-league debut in the second half of the 2026 campaign.

Hao Yu Lee SS | DET
Tigers' Hao-Yu Lee: Booted from big-league camp
The Tigers optioned Lee (oblique) to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
It's unlikely he was going to make the Opening Day roster anyway, but Lee's chances evaporated after he sustained a left oblique strain. The 23-year-old infielder could get a late start to the minor-league season.

Max Muncy SS | ATH
Athletics' Max Muncy: Solid start to spring
Muncy is 6-for-21 with four walks, two doubles, a home run and five RBI through 10 Cactus League games.
Muncy has seen regular playing time at the hot corner this spring and has looked solid at the dish, tallying three extra-base hits while also showing improved plate discipline with four walks thus far. He walked only 4.6 percent of the time during a lackluster rookie campaign last season, when the 23-year-old slashed .214/.259/.379 with seven doubles, nine homers and 23 RBI across 63 games. Continuing to produce strong numbers in Cactus League play should aid Muncy's pursuit of the starting third-base job for the 2026 regular season, though Darell Hernaiz -- who's away from the team competing for Team Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic -- and Andy Ibanez remain in the mix.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Back in WBC lineup
Perdomo (illness) will start at shortstop and bat ninth for Team Dominican Republic in Monday's game against Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic.
After falling ill, Perdomo was held out of the lineup for Sunday's 12-1 win over Team Netherlands, with Erik Gonzalez filling in at shortstop in his stead. The Diamondbacks infielder needed just one day off to move past the ailment and will rejoin the starting nine as the Dominican Republic looks to move to 3-0 in pool play.

Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Swats third spring homer
Lawlar started in center field and went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's spring game against the Reds.
Lawlar cracked his third homer during Cactus League play, sending a Graham Ashcraft slider that caught too much of the plate over the wall in left-center. He's hit in three straight games and should continue to build up plate appearances with Alek Thomas playing for Team Mexico at the World Baseball Classic. Lawler, who is 8-for-23 with four extra-base hits in eight spring contests, has played exclusively in center field. That suggests he could be the primary center fielder with Thomas shifting to left field, if Lourdes Gurriel (knee) opens the season on the injured list. Once Gurriel is ready, Lawlar could be used as the righty-hitting complement to Thomas in center.

Jose Fernandez SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jose Fernandez: Headed out to Reno
The Diamondbacks optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
After being added to the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster over the winter, Fernandez will make the jump to Triple-A this season after spending the entire 2025 campaign at Double-A Amarillo, with whom he slashed .272/.321/.454 with 17 home runs and 12 steals in 510 plate appearances. The 22-year-old from Venezuela is regarded as only an average defender at shortstop, so a move to third base could be in the cards at some point down the road.

Demetrio Crisantes SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Demetrio Crisantes: Overcomes shoulder issue
Crisantes (shoulder) has appeared in three Cactus League games since making his spring debut Wednesday, going a collective 3-for-7 with one double.
Crisantes was eased into workouts this spring after he underwent left shoulder surgery in May, but the 21-year-old demonstrated enough progress in his recovery for the Diamondbacks to sign off on him playing in games. Crisantes is attending camp as a non-roster invitee and is likely to be assigned to High-A Hillsboro to open the 2026 season.
