Adames is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Adames has provided a .621 OPS while striking out in 35.8 percent of his plate appearances since being promoted from Triple-A Durham earlier this month. Rays manager Kevin Cash apparently felt a matchup with one of baseball's top right-handed pitchers in Max Scherzer wasn't going to get Adames' bat going, so the rookie will take a seat in favor of Adeiny Hechavarria, who garners the start at shortstop. Following a team off day Wednesday, expect Adames to re-enter the lineup for Thursday's series opener with the Astros.

Wendle will start in left field and bat fifth Tuesday against the Nationals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

For the second time in four games, Wendle will pick up a start in left field, despite his limited experience at the position. With the Rays eager to find at-bats for the likes of Willy Adames, Daniel Robertson and Adeiny Hechavarria in the middle infield, any added versatility Wendle can show would go a long way for him toward maintaining a regular spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching. The 28-year-old has slumped offensively in June, slashing just .185/.214/.200 across 20 games.

Baez is starting at shortstop and batting fifth in Monday's game against the Dodgers.

With Addison Russell getting the night off, Baez slides over from second base and Ben Zobrist takes over at the keystone. Baez is batting a robust .269/.311/.530 this season with 14 home runs and 50 RBI.

Sardinas (ankle) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Monday.

Sardinas has already been out for 57 days, so the move likely won't delay his return, as he still doesn't have a clear timetable. He was removed from the 40-man roster in order to make room for Tim Beckham (groin) to be activated from the 60-day disabled list.

DeJong (hand) will see a doctor Thursday in order to be cleared to face live pitching, David Solomon of 590 The Fan reports.

DeJong will undergo what he hopes will be his final X-ray and bone scan on his fractured hand. He has been able to hit in batting practice and could be cleared for a minor-league rehab assignment after Thursday's visit.

Rojas (hand) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.

Rojas was held out of the lineup the last two days due to his sore hand, but he felt good enough to play the field for the final frame of Sunday's contest, and is ready to return to action Monday. Rojas will man the hot corner and hit sixth against Arizona starter Shelby Miller.

Ahmed is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Ahmed totaled just two hits over his last five games, so manager Torey Lovullo decided to go in a different direction Monday. Ketel Marte will slide over and cover shortstop in Ahmed's place.

Wendle is not starting Monday against the left-handed Gio Gonzalez and the Nationals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle hasn't started against a single lefty this year. Willy Adames gets the start at the keystone Monday.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Washington's 8-6 victory over the Phillies on Sunday.

Turner had gone eight games without swiping a bag coming into this game, but he got back on the board in that department with his 21st steal of the season in Sunday's contest. The steals highlight Turner's biggest fantasy appeal, with his eight home runs and .405 slugging percentage both representing unspectacular numbers. He's getting on base at a solid clip, with his .348 on-base percentage through 304 at-bats falling exactly in line with his career number. As long as he continues to do that, he'll continue to offer reliable production on the basepaths.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs in the Blue Jays' 7-6 win over the Angels on Sunday.

It was a big performance from the 27-year-old shortstop, who scored three of Toronto's seven runs and launched his seventh long ball of the season with a solo shot in the sixth inning. It's still been a struggle on the whole offensively this year for Diaz, as his .239/.277/.406 slash line is comfortably lagging behind his career marks of .273/.325/.446.
