Edman is back in the starting lineup Thursday, playing second base and batting leadoff versus the Mets.

Edman missed Wednesday's loss to the Mets while dealing with calf soreness, but he'll be ready to go for Thursday's series finale. After batting .300 with five multi-hit games in April, the 27-year-old has produced a .233 average in May and hasn't had a multi-hit effort since May 5.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with an RBI on Wednesday against the Royals.

Anderson was one of the few positives offensively for Chicago in the 6-2 loss, and he delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning. It was his sixth multi-hit game in his last 11 starts, during which he's tallied four RBI and five runs scored. For the season, Anderson has maintained a .338/.371/.489 line across 140 plate appearances.

Franco went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Tigers.

Franco reached base multiple times in a game for the first time in seven starts, collecting only one hit across 26 at-bats in the span. However, Franco was productive early on in Wednesday's game, tallying his run scored in the first frame prior to stealing his fourth base of the season one inning later. Overall, Franco is hitting .272/.297/.429 with 23 runs scored, 16 RBI and four home runs across 155 plate appearances on the campaign.

Correa went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, two runs scored and an RBI on Wednesday against the Athletics.

Correa returned from the injured list after recovering from a finger injury that cost him nearly two weeks. He singled and scored his first time at the plate and followed that up with an RBI double in the fourth frame. Correa has lacked power early on in the campaign, though the recent uptick in offense around the league bodes well for his potential to experience improved results.

Smith went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday, his second consecutive two-hit effort.

With Wednesday's production, Smith pulled his average back up over the Mendoza Line to .209. The 25-year-old had belted his second home run of the season in Tuesday's win, a two-run shot that had staked Oakland to an early 2-0 lead in what was ultimately a 5-2 victory. Nine of Smith's 19 hits have impressively gone for extra bases thus far, so if he can continue to pick up the pace at the plate the more he acclimates to big-league arms, he could turn into a viable fantasy asset over the course of his rookie season.

Edman was hit by a pitch in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader, and Brendan Donovan will take his place at the keystone a day later. However, Edman will be available off the bench, so it doesn't appear as though his injury is a significant concern.

Edman isn't starting Wednesday against the Mets, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Edman is currently riding a four-game hit streak in which he's gone 4-for-16 with a homer, a triple, four runs, two RBI and a stolen base, but he'll be out of the lineup for the first time since May 2. Brendan Donovan will shift to second base while Edmundo Sosa starts at shortstop.

Strange-Gordon isn't starting Wednesday against Miami.

Even with right-hander Pablo Lopez on the mound for the Marlins, Strange-Gordon will be out of the lineup for the fourth time in the last six games. Alcides Escobar will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

Crawford (leg) is starting Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Crawford struck his ankle with his bat in Tuesday's loss, but he said after the game that he expected to play Wednesday. He'll officially start at shortstop and bat third during the series finale in Toronto. The 27-year-old has gone 0-for-8 with a strikeout over his last two games.

De La Cruz has homered in each of his last two games and has a .319/.396/.596 over his last 12 contests for High-A Dayton.

Since getting off to a fairly quiet start, De La Cruz has turned on the jets and now owns a .276/.333/.533 line with six homers and nine steals across 27 games this season. The 20-year-old's strikeout rate is still too high at 30.7 percent, but he's trimmed it noticeably over the course of his aforementioned hot streak (24.5 percent). It'll be interesting to see how he deals with the higher-level pitching at Double-A once he earns a promotion, which could realistically happen in the next couple months.
