Mariners' Dee Gordon: Does pregame infield work Friday
Gordon (toe) fielded grounders and did pregame infield work prior to Friday's series opener against the Twins, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. "He's feeling a lot better," manager Scott Servais said. "He's going to swing the bat a little in the cage or maybe on the field, too. He wanted to take some ground balls right at him. He won't do any hard running or anything for a few days. But he's feeling better."
Gordon reportedly moved around well and remains on track to potentially come off the disabled list Thursday, the first day he's eligible to do so. The speedster has been wearing a walking boot over the last four days to keep pressure off his recovering right toe, and the strategy appears to have paid dividends judging by Gordon's activity level Friday.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Slugs eighth homer Friday
Anderson went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Friday's 5-4 loss to the Tigers.
It's his first homer in 13 games, giving Anderson eight on the season to go along with his .240/.301/.415 slash line. The 24-year-old has had a tough May, hitting only .167 (11-for-66) with 20 strikeouts coming into Friday, but this performance might be a sign he's about to break out of his slump.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Comes off paternity list
Wendle was reinstated from the paternity list Thursday.
The Rays optioned top prospect Willy Adames to clear a roster spot for Wendle after his three-game spell on the paternity list. Wendle has been a solid contributor to this point, slashing .288/.336/.384 while platooning at second base. He's now eligible to return to the lineup as soon as Friday's game against the Orioles.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Sent back to minors
Adames was optioned to Triple-A Durham after Thursday's game against the Red Sox.
With Joey Wendle coming off the paternity list, the Rays are following through on their promise to make Adames' first big league stint a short one. Adames, who went 2-for-12 with a home run and six strikeouts over his three games, will head back to Triple-A for the time being. He figures to make a return to the majors at some point this summer, but it's unclear when exactly the Rays will be ready to give Adames an everyday role.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Expected back Friday
Wendle (personal) will be activated from the paternity list Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Wendle has been away from the team since Tuesday following the birth of his baby, but he's expected to rejoin the Rays ahead of Friday's series opener against the Orioles. Once active, he'll likely settle back into the strong side of a platoon at second base. His return will send top prospect Willy Adames back to the minors.

Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Astros' Carlos Correa: Two hits and RBI
Correa went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
Correa entered Wednesday's tilt in an 0-for-9, four-strikeout mini slump, but he broke out of it with his first multi-hit effort in nearly three weeks. The 23-year-old is still hitting just .188 in May and as a result boasts a .273/.363/.483 slash line which is down from last year's numbers in all three categories.

Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA
Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Pair of doubles Tuesday
Adrianza went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.
The light-hitting Adrianza hasn't done much at the plate this season, but he logged his first multi-hit game of the year and now has three doubles over the past two games. Despite sporting a slash line of just .227/.296/.307, Adrianza has been seeing fairly regular at-bats, although that could change soon with Miguel Sano (hamstring) set to return Friday.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: Doesn't expect to miss extended time
Manager Scott Servais said he doesn't expect Gordon (toe) to miss much more than 10 days, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
Servais added that the fracture in Gordon's toe is a minor one, which make sense given he was able to swipe a bag and score the winning run in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Tigers after suffering the injury. He'll get some time off to let the issue heal, but early indications are that the speedster won't require a lengthy stay on the shelf. Gordon was hitting a solid .304/.330/.386 with 16 stolen bases in 45 games prior to landing on the DL. Look for Gordon Beckham to fill in at second base until Gordon is healthy.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Stay in majors expected to be brief
Manager Kevin Cash said Adames is expected to be sent back to the minors when Joey Wendle returns from the paternity list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
This sounds more like the Rays, who are preparing to send their top prospect back to Triple-A Durham in a couple of days in order delay his arbitration eligibility as far as possible into the future. He should start at shortstop until Wendle is back with the team, but fantasy owners will have to wait a little while longer for Adames to take over as the team's everyday shortstop.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Hitting fifth in MLB debut
Adames is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth Tuesday against the Red Sox, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
As expected, the Rays will waste no time slotting Adames in as their starting shortstop. The 22-year-old, who hit .311/.387/.466 across 40 games with Triple-A Durham prior to his promotion, is situated in the middle of the order against southpaw Chris Sale in his major-league debut. It's unclear if he'll stick in the five hole against same-handed pitching initially, but his above-average hit tool should eventually help him settle into a favorable spot in the lineup regardless of who is pitching for the opposition.
