    Bichette will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks but won't require surgery on his fractured left hand, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

    Bichette sustained the broken hand during Triple-A Buffalo's game on Monday as he was hit by a fastball up and in. The highly touted prospect still could make his major-league debut at some point this season, but is now likely sidelined through the end of May.

    Blue Jays' Richard Urena: Sent back to minors

    Urena was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

    Urena was promoted from Buffalo on Sunday and went 2-for-8 in three appearances during his short stint with the team. The 22-year-old returns to Triple-A in order to make room on the 25-man roster for the promotion of top-prospect Vladimir Guerrero.

    Rays' Joey Wendle: Could be out 6-to-8 weeks

    Wendle's broken wrist is expected to keep him out for 6-to-8 weeks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

    Early estimations of Wendle's timetable had him out for three or four weeks, but the first indications from the team are that he'll be out longer than that. The given timeline is preliminary and could be updated, but for now, consider Wendle unlikely to return before early June.

    Angels' David Fletcher: Drives in five

    Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a triple and five RBI as the Angels topped the Yankees, 11-5 on Thursday.

    Fletcher doubled his RBI total from five to 10 with this performance, which included a three-run triple. He's not hitting for much power with only one home run, but the 24-year-old is off to a respectable start at the dish, slashing .301/.341/.410 over 83 at-bats.

    Rays' Joey Wendle: Officially lands on IL

    Wendle (wrist) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

    This was expected after Wendle was diagnosed with a fractured right wrist Wednesday, an injury he suffered after getting hit by a pitch. It's unclear how long the injury will keep the infielder sidelined at this point, though John Romano of the Tampa Bay Times estimates that Wendle will be unavailable for at least 3-to-4 weeks. Christian Arroyo was summoned from the minors in a corresponding move, while Brandon Lowe figures to cover the keystone while Wendle is on the shelf.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Posts three hits

    Mondesi went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI in a 10-2 victory against the Rays on Wednesday.

    The 23-year-old has showcased pop and power early this season. While the bomb Wednesday was just his fourth this year, it was his 13th extra-base hit. He's slashing .283/.308/.515 and has swiped seven bases with only one caught stealing. Mondesi also has 20 RBI and 13 runs in 99 at-bats.
