Mondesi (oblique) said he wants more at-bats from the left side of the plate before making his season debut, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Mondesi spoke to reporters after the first game of a rehab assignment Thursday. He elaborated that he felt good in the field and swinging from the right side of the plate, but he needs additional at-bats as a lefty to ensure that he is completely healthy. He remains without a formal timetable to return.

Adames isn't starting Thursday's game against the Yankees, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Adames had gone hitless with five strikeouts in six at-bats across his last two games. Joey Wendle will shift to shortstop while Mike Brosseau starts at third base.

Correa went 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-1 win over the Angels.

Lost amid the five home runs Houston pummeled was Correa's three-single performance, which could ignite the slumping shortstop. He entered the game fighting a 2-for-35 stretch over the first nine games of May.

Mondesi (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Thursday.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined since the start of the season with a strained right oblique, but the rehab assignment indicates he's close to joining the Royals. It's unclear how many games Mondesi will require in the minors before being activated, but he could rejoin the team within the next week or two if all goes well.
